The item description on Amazon is: "Entryway Bench with Coat Hooks and Shoe Storage, Willow Gray". The term "bench" implies being able to sit on it, confirmed by virtually any dictionary. However, the material is MDF and by nature is prone to crumbling when placed under stress. So unless the "bench" has adequate reinforcement underneath the MDF, there is a likelihood it would not survive sustained use when supporting the weight of a human, in my opinion. But even if you could use it as a bench, the draping garments from the hooks might cover in the seating area.
