I got Pixel6a a year ago in a similar deal from Mint. Even though Mint claimed that phone is locked, I tried inserting a sim from an INTL carrier and it worked. When I called Mint after 12 months then they told me that Google phones are not locked so there is no need to unlock.
I am not sure about 7pro but mine 6a was unlocked from the day I received.
Ported my number to Google Voice many years ago, been using Mint most of those years as a "new customer" by getting a new number each time and setting GV to forward calls to the new number each time (a few quick taps in the GV app does it). This time I'll have to get my own number somewhere else to port in ($3 by setting up a new Google account & porting that out is my most likely path), but everything else is the same.

I look like a new account to Mint each time by using Gmail's "plus sign" feature whereby you insert some random text preceded by a plus sign right before the @ in your email address and that extra stuff looks like a different address to Mint, but Gmail ignores it. For example:

[email protected]

Looks unique to Mint, but still gets processed to the [email protected] address by Google. I often use the company and date for the random text to ensure it's unique, so I'd have:

[email protected]
Last year during the big Mint sale I got this phone and ported our numbers over. I'm a fan of the phone (no fingerprint issues) and Mint's pricing, but beware there are known MMS issues the Pixel 7 Pro on Mint that are not fixed after over a year.

Texting via group texts sometimes doesn't go through (or come through) and sending pictures via text just don't work. After troubleshooting for a year with support and reddit forums, there still isn't a fix. It got better after switching the APN and found one that works OK, but it's never consistent.

Just a warning to anyone considering the switch.

Had one in my cart before it went OOS. Looks like they moved one of the canceled orders back in stock and I just checked out. Fingers crossed that it ships.

You only get 1 year of service for $90 if you port in your number. Otherwise, $90 gets you 6 months of service.
This is really starting to be confusing. I'm not seeing what you guys are seeing. My order saids "12 MONTH, 5GB PLAN - SIM KIT X1". What does your actually say that makes you think you only get 6 months unless you port in?

Here's my screen shot. Is this not what yours saids?

Did the terms of the deal change between when it was posted and now?

Will this phone work on T-Mobile? If not, can I port my T-Mobile number to Mint?

I am smelling some BS. Looks like there was another order cancel. I ordered right when this posted yesterday and just got the "Officially canceled" email. When I ordered I got an "We're reviewing your order" email. I paid with Paypal by way of credit card. I checked Paypal and the payment processed. I checked with my credit card which showed the pending amount. Checked the order status on mint and the status area said "No information, contact care" I chatted care they said it is just processing. Checked back with my credit card this morning and it still showed pending. Chatted back to Mint before seeing the cancelation email and they told me its been credited because it was refused by my bank and the phone offer is no longer available. Nothing they can do but recommend I watch their website.. thanks

I hope not for others who were able to order but, it feels like its some BS around either they ran out of stock or some sort of price mistake they are pulling the plug on.
Mine was cancelled too, not sure why…

how does the port-in work? Do you have to give them the port-in number when you order? or just when you activate once you get the phone?

when?
I ordered first one yesterday ~420p Eastern. Just got a second. No shipping confirmation even though I did first one next day air. Paypal checkout both times. I'm still worried I won't get anything.

I don't see any port in requirement on my receipt. Just:
