So you believe a company like Amazon, needs to scam YOU out of ONE SINGLE DOLLAR? REALLY??? That's the most elaborate scheme you think Bezos can conjure up... and he's tempting us all with Nintendo eGift cards?? WOW; just wow.
It's a tricky move, no question, but not a scam in the way you're thinking. What Nintendo (and other companies that offer gift cards) is betting on by selling these at this price is that the majority of people will give their $9 to Nintendo and either not spend the $10 that is now locked into the Nintendo ecosystem (a TON of gift cards are never actually used), or that the gift card recipient will spend more than $10 when using the gift card.
Either way, Nintendo has gotten someone who might not usually or otherwise spent money on Nintendo stuff to give them $9. And if you get someone to buy something once, the more likely they are to buy it again.

Or if you buy a lot of Switch games, this is a 10% built-in discount. Of course, I could leave it in my checking account and make that sweet 0.005% interest (not joking) though.
Anyway, in for 2 using Amazon Visa points so I can stack the 5% cash back with the built-in 10% discount.
You ought to at least open a better savings account and score around 5% on your $9 deposit, lol. Lots of online banks ranging 4-5% on savings now.
Everyone replying misreading what this guy misread haha…but it's "I give you $9, and you give me $10"….not the other way around as you've portrayed. Try reading again
Exactly. That person clearly has it backwards, that's why they're ranting.
I had eshop cards on my wish list for multiple people to get me but didn't end up with enough to buy the games I wanted so doing a bunch of orders of these.
Going to get Super Mario Wonder to play with the family and thinking of getting Super Mario RPG.
