yeah, it's pretty useless at home.

home users may find "Wi-Fi SweetSpots" more useful
as it's a good way to figure out best router placement
to avoid dead or weak wifi spots around the house.
it turned out my best wifi router spot was shoulder height
inside the corner of a hallway closet - so that's where it is.

I've had this app for a couple years now, buying it for a dollar on a previous SD. I use it every once in a while to see what WIFI band my neighbors are using so I can set my router to a different one. That way we don't overlap and my signal is stronger.

Apple does not allow these kinds of apps because they don't respect the customers ability to make their own choices.

Will that app on a pc constantly monitor WiFi and Ethernet coming out of my router over time so I can see if I have any dropouts over the course of a day or longer? Thanks.

I was thinking of using apps like this for that as well, but aren't routers supposed to do this themselves and auto select an appropriate band that isn't congested?

Likely your router setup interface already provides this feature.

It didn't even ask for a $1. It just let me download the pro version for free. Hopefully it stays free unless I am missing something
Same here but I can only get mine to scan on 2.4ghz channels. My phone operates on 5ghz too, so I'm not sure why those aren't included too.

Been using this app for years. Works great other than wifi networks not refreshing quick enough.

I have an Apple phone but I also have a "burner" Android phone that I connect to WiFi only and I love this app for the simple reason you can visually compare channel usage for your routers as well as your neighbors and change if needed. Being able to quickly view your signal strength if you suspect issues is great too.

Or buy a router made this decade and it will handle channel selection automatically and fix a host of other security and WiFi stability issues too.

Very few apps get to live on my very limited phone space even as apps that are rarely used and usually 'disabled' . This is one of them. Rarely ever need it, useful when I do.
Not endorsing it, but for some reason I don't uninstall it.

This app is great for running quick network diagnostics like running a scan for devices connected or getting an overview of the gateway, ip and other information. Only thing it's missing is the ability to see 6GHz band (wifi 6e). It only shows 2.4 and 5 GHz bands and I had to install wifianalyzer to work with 6GHz.

Agree with others that bought this a while ago. Last time I used it was to run a ping test to a website that I could get to in one place but not another. LAN scan is also handy to see who is on your network. I prefer WiFiman for viewing nearby networks.

Worth $1 IMO

Play store is an app store. If you mean via Apple app store, Network Analyzer Pro is there also, $3.99. I also have it on my iPad, but use Fing more often if I'm on iOS (at least for my use. I don't think it does signal monitoring).

Will this app allow me to pick which band I connect too? I have an Eero router (which is dual band) but automationally connects to 2.4 or 5 ghz. At times I would like to pick one vs the other.
