The Nano Mini [bostitchoffice.com] stapler from Bostich/PaperPro is the gold standard in this form factor. One of the "reduced effort" models, you can likely find it in stock, as I can, at your local grocer for $6 (for me Google indicates stock at Safeway and Kroger) or perhaps for a bit more at an office supply.

This Swingline model is definitely cute and (very) inexpensive, but lacks enough leverage for my weak hands that even more than a few pages made me run to models like the one referenced above. I like the quality of the small Swingline, but not the effort.

Overall this should work and might be perfect for light use in a kid's school backpack in a sort of "I won't be sad if they lose it" kind of way.

Good luck!

Bought one of these (or something similar from swingline) when I was in college, and I still use it to this day.

These are great to throw in a drawer where you don't have the room (or desk space) for a full size! Also not a bad last minute stocking stuffer.

Here it is: Bostitch Nano 12 Mini Stapler https://a.co/d/1l8xgcQ
Unfortunately, on amazon as well as at Bostich, "Stapler color is selected at random" for some weird reason.
(the one-star reviews are pretty funny)

Was hoping there'd be some comedy gold. Sadly just people either misinterpreting the listing or confused by Bostich/PaperPro branding. Bostich/PaperPro branding has been a mess for some time, so I consider that gripe justifiable. The people expecting 5 of these for most any sub-$10 price...

Good luck!
Jon
