Consolation thumbs up. Is this price too good to pass up? I've wanted a 3d printer for yrs but never had a suitable area for one until recently.

You will not do better at this price point. They will come down a few dollars more in the coming months but anyone would be served well by this printer

Oh I know...I luckily have one about 20 minutes away from my office. Microcenters BnMs are rarely close...but I had to post because it's a pretty good deal. Although guy at store tried to get me to get the s3 or something that wasn't much different but had smaller screen. The naming/labeling of these devices are dang confusing.

SE 100% for auto z offset. There's no reason to buy any other ender model other then the k1's, and ender 3 v3 se and ke.

I came close to buying the K1 for $429 but couldn't turn down the CR-10 SE for $289.

stick with bambu
It's $150 bucks for a more than well enough equipped printer that most people would never outgrow.
I've had mine for almost 2 years now and it is great for what it is, and at this price is great.
I'm planning to get a P1S here soon as an upgrade, but you can't recommend bambu for everything.

B&H has the Ender 3 V3 SE for $190 right now. I would go for that one for $40 more. Then you don't have to make the trip to MC and you have a nicer printer. It might even be cheaper somewhere else too.

I upgraded to this printer from the ender 3 pro. Huge upgrade. Shortly after, I upgraded to the bambu p1s and it's a night and day difference. I print a lot of lithophanes and my print time was cut in about 1/3 on average on the bambu. Not only that but the quality of the prints is much better (less imperfections). I wish I would have upgraded sooner but with that said a lot of knowledge was gained by having to tinker with my ender 3s. The downside to the s1 is that my bed falls out of calibration constantly. I just got the silicone "springs" ordered so we'll see if they make an impact.

Not to mention Creality is open source. Bambu is black box.
