sadly most of the Shell brand gas stations nearby is usually 10-20 cents higher than other brands. So I get basically no savings even with 10% off on the gift card Frown. Another odd thing is the pump doesn't consider paying by Shell gift card as cash so it charges you credit card price. Maybe with 4% CapitalOne offer + 1.5% CapitalOne unlimited cashback will give me a better total out of pocket value.

At the last step of check out, but decide not to pull the trigger.

Firstly, as other said, my local (Boston area) shell stations always charge 10% more (say, $3.8/Gal at shell vs $3.4/Gal at nearby Exxon).

Also, the shipping is not free. The cheapest $1.99 is not trackable. I don't want to lose it. If add trackable, the minimal shipping fee is $8.75, eating into the $30 saving. I add a screenshot.

Thanks for the post, but not for me. If you do, yes, use paypal + chase freedom looks the best payment option.

OP, I suggest you add the shipping in the title or in the post, "+$2 non-trackable or $8.75 trackable shipping"

Are you sure? My area stations consider GC as cash rate.

In my shell station , tuesday discount doesn't work when shell gift card is used but discount works fine with credit card.

Do you go in and see cashier or pay at pump? I normally pay at pump and the pump doesn't give me cash price when I pay by Shell gift card. Happened few times at one of the lowest price Shell station near me. Another has no cash/credit pricing and usually the same as the credit price as the station near me.

Meh, ever since costco moved into the area, way cheaper than shell. Would use when traveling but I would most likely forget the card at home
