Have laptop prices gone up? Last year I got a gateway for $300 that has a backlit keyboard and 16GB of ram, but an i5 1135G7 instead of the 1155G7, this seems like a downgrade in every way except for a slight CPU bump and $50 more a year later

This might be a silly question, but does this laptop support usb c docking and charging. I have found some cheaper laptops don't despite have usb c ports

Maybe, but I think Lenovo is also a preferred brand and known for (true or not) better quality.

Does your Gateway laptop also have a touch screen and a 512GB NVMe drive? As long as you're satisfied with your purchase, then it has worked out for you.

The post-2020 resurfacing of the Gateway name has had its share of unflattering reviews and commentary. In fairness, some issues should be expected given the laptops are aimed at the low end market and priced accordingly. Expecting Falcon Northwest quality and performance at Gateway pricing isn't happening. Others issues, such as not receiving a response from Gateway after a customer has repeatedly requested assistance, are more problematic.

Ah fair the gateway doesn't have a touchscreen I don't think, it's not my laptop, but it does have a 512GB SSD drive that tested at 1-2GBps if I recall so yes NVMe, but not anything crazy high end

According information found at the link energyx posted earlier, the USB-C port on this model (82H803SBUS) is data only. Probably not much use for a USB-C docking station since the USB-C port does not have support for PD or DisplayPort Alt Mode.

This link says that this ideapad has a touch screen AND is anti-glare. I thought all touch screens were glossy screens?

I bought this exact laptop for my wife a few weeks back on a similar deal. Open box excellent was like $315. Looked new as usual. Easy to add an 8GB stick of ram. She likes it.
