What's the 800$ bill credit for ? Is it for an upgrade or new line?
Total of 800 in credits over 24 months to upgrade to new phone and trade in a device.

Let the fun begin! I didn't have the segment in my account. I used chat to see if I could get the promo. They said since I've been a loyal customer they would notate my account. I went ahead and ordered through the chat the phone. Said I would get $800 for my trade in. $275 instant and then the rest in bill credits. I called 611 when the phone shipped out just to confirm P629 was on my account and they said no. The agent said she talked to supervisor and that it will be loaded and put me on hold and said it was notated. And I would receive a text message to confirm. Of course I didn't.

I received my IPhone 15 Pro and sent in my Samsung J2. There isn't anything slowing as bill credits in my account. T-Force said it will once it is processed. But, said the promo wasn't in my account even though I was told it was from the phone agent and approval of supervisor. They could see I've talked to several people. I'll wait a week and contact them as my trade in should be processed by then. And still with in the 20 day return policy.

The entire process is a shit-show. Technically, this promotion is targeted so we're testing our luck by asking but the amount of disinformation given to consumers when they contact T-Mobile about the promotion is just laughably dishonest, deceiving, and a poor reflection on T-Mobile.

Instead of all this nonsense, they should just post available promotions on your account... The fact that some people don't see a promotion, contact T-Mobile for it, and actually have success getting the promotion is annoying. Make it where you either qualify or you don't.

I've chatted, went through the phone, and checked in-store.

Chat said I didn't qualify, phone said I qualified, and I went to two stores... one store said I didn't qualify, the other said I did. So there's no way to know for sure if you're going to be stuck with a phone you didn't want to pay full price for because there is no proper training going around here. The worst part is when they claim you will see the credit in 1-2 billing cycles... do they not realize that by then, the return period is over and you can't return the phone? How irrational can this company be? They are worth nearly $200 billion... you would think they would have an effective system in place by now.

I really don't care if I qualify or not. But be consistent with the damn answers... if you are charging customers so you can hire incompetent employees, why are customers forced to educate themselves on your promotions instead of getting a direct answer from the employees? The funny thing is the employees on 611 make a commission... so they lie to you, switch your stuff, and then they make money off of lying and you're stuck fixing it. WTF? Such a dumb system.

I went into a T-Mobile store inside Costco. Asked agent on how to check "Segment" of my account, he didn't know but promised to find out, he made some calls (to his mgr, may be in another store or home store that operates Costco store too). Came back and navigated to the segment page in front of me on his tab, and displayed the exact segment my account is on, it did not have the segments mentioned as targeted for iPhone or pixel/iphone/Samsung credit

One other account that I am auth user on, is simple choice and that one had the BYOD free line segment in it and he confirmed the line can be added free

Just sharing so it helps for folks to stop by at T-Mobile store to figure it out.

I believe same can be done by chat/call agents too, if they know where and how to check.

In store was good for me because I can see it myself when they navigated to segment page

Hope this info is helpful in validating your respective accounts for eligibility

Edit:
This is not a special page, that they have to go to check this. Any in store rep who has a tab, when you give one of the lines on the account to pull up the account, the segment is in the first page when the account is pulled up. It will be small text with link, when clicked on it will show the segment Details of the account

I am also being offered direct $830 credit towards a iPhone $15 purchase by tforce associate. But they are saying the charge will show up on my account at end of month and after that only they will credit back those charges to my account. This will be outside the 20 day period. Any way to get any assurance / commitment?

This deal is still alive as far as I know. I used promo P629 / ID230433 just yesterday (Jan 2nd) to trade in an old phone that met the trade conditions for a Pixel 8.

I confirmed account eligibility with three different phone reps and one app chat rep. All said I was eligible, but two said I would need to upgrade my plan while the other two denied that this was a requirement. I went through painful leading questions to get them to explicitly confirm eligibility. All calls were recorded because I always record all of my calls.

My plan is Simple Choice Unlimited. 20+ year customer.

I will send in my old phone once the new one gets here and I get a shipping label or whatever.

EDIT: Always try to take your trade-in to a store. Mail in your trade-in as a last resort. Make sure the store is a corporate store and not a partner/TPR.

We too are on the Simple Choice unlimited and were told that we were not eligible as well. To boot, calling 611 and T-mo phone chat both said we were "after checking". I agree with the others who have mentioned that the people on 611 are unfortunately (for us) trying to get the sales.

No clue. I just asked them to check if I qualify for P629. They said I was eligible.

But reading some of the previous comments has me worried. Some have noted that the sales guys just lie to the customer to get the sale and never even record the promotion on the account. I will plan to check in with T-mobile in a week to confirm the promo did apply.

Finally was told that I would get a $625 one time credit but I can't trust these reps. Has anyone that was told they would get a one time credit, have it actually show up?

Yes same here. Tforce ppl started with $415 one time credit but finally agreed to give full $830 credit towards a iPhone 15 ( given I have been with tmo for a decade now and on simple choice). I have ordered a iphone now and hopefully see the credit come through at end of month. Have chats saved.

Did they get you into a different promotion and then you realize you didn't get the promotion you asked for and now they're crediting you the full $830? I think the problem with that is the credit shows up after one billing cycle and the return date for the phone is 14 days. So what happens if they don't honor the credit? You're stuck with the phone? And also, because you're trading a phone in, do you even get that phone back?

There's no way they can get that trade in phone back. It's like finding a needle in a haystack.
Been there, done that.

I am not having to trade in any phone. It's a full credit they are offering as a one time loyalty benefit. And I understand the credit doesn't get applied until 1 billing cycle and by then the return period has elapsed as well - expressed the same to them and they assured it won't be a problem. I have chats saved either way. My first time experience with Tforce team so not sure how it's going to end. With 611 call, I had an agent who committed to getting an exception for my plan and get us a iPhone 15 but he never got back - was told later that the agent gave false info and that's how they got away with it.
