I received my IPhone 15 Pro and sent in my Samsung J2. There isn't anything slowing as bill credits in my account. T-Force said it will once it is processed. But, said the promo wasn't in my account even though I was told it was from the phone agent and approval of supervisor. They could see I've talked to several people. I'll wait a week and contact them as my trade in should be processed by then. And still with in the 20 day return policy.
Instead of all this nonsense, they should just post available promotions on your account... The fact that some people don't see a promotion, contact T-Mobile for it, and actually have success getting the promotion is annoying. Make it where you either qualify or you don't.
I've chatted, went through the phone, and checked in-store.
Chat said I didn't qualify, phone said I qualified, and I went to two stores... one store said I didn't qualify, the other said I did. So there's no way to know for sure if you're going to be stuck with a phone you didn't want to pay full price for because there is no proper training going around here. The worst part is when they claim you will see the credit in 1-2 billing cycles... do they not realize that by then, the return period is over and you can't return the phone? How irrational can this company be? They are worth nearly $200 billion... you would think they would have an effective system in place by now.
I really don't care if I qualify or not. But be consistent with the damn answers... if you are charging customers so you can hire incompetent employees, why are customers forced to educate themselves on your promotions instead of getting a direct answer from the employees? The funny thing is the employees on 611 make a commission... so they lie to you, switch your stuff, and then they make money off of lying and you're stuck fixing it. WTF? Such a dumb system.
One other account that I am auth user on, is simple choice and that one had the BYOD free line segment in it and he confirmed the line can be added free
Just sharing so it helps for folks to stop by at T-Mobile store to figure it out.
I believe same can be done by chat/call agents too, if they know where and how to check.
In store was good for me because I can see it myself when they navigated to segment page
Hope this info is helpful in validating your respective accounts for eligibility
Edit:
This is not a special page, that they have to go to check this. Any in store rep who has a tab, when you give one of the lines on the account to pull up the account, the segment is in the first page when the account is pulled up. It will be small text with link, when clicked on it will show the segment Details of the account
I confirmed account eligibility with three different phone reps and one app chat rep. All said I was eligible, but two said I would need to upgrade my plan while the other two denied that this was a requirement. I went through painful leading questions to get them to explicitly confirm eligibility. All calls were recorded because I always record all of my calls.
My plan is Simple Choice Unlimited. 20+ year customer.
I will send in my old phone once the new one gets here and I get a shipping label or whatever.
EDIT: Always try to take your trade-in to a store. Mail in your trade-in as a last resort. Make sure the store is a corporate store and not a partner/TPR.

But reading some of the previous comments has me worried. Some have noted that the sales guys just lie to the customer to get the sale and never even record the promotion on the account. I will plan to check in with T-mobile in a week to confirm the promo did apply.
Been there, done that.
