Musician's Friend orders sometimes ship from Guitar Center, which is same parent company. Great thing is that GC also accepts MF returns if there is something not quite right with your order. So no risk!

Dang this is tempting. Been debating a PRS Standard but might have to get this instead.

Great middle of the road Les Paul. CTS pots, push/pull coil split, Grover tuners and the smooth satin finish makes this one unique in the Epi lineup. I prefer the satin finish over the plastic looking poly on some models.

Is the return shipping on the buyer?

Figured that buyer has to pay for the return shipping.

I bought a similar model, ( les paul pro 2) basically same thing with covered pickups. It's littlery my favorite sounding les paul out of the box. Sad to say it's better than my $7000 Gibson..... You would have no issues with being a "life" guitar

IDK. I have a GC just 20 miles away.

Pretty good deal here.

Here's a link to the exact Gibson model at roughly 10 times the price.

Same company.

Solid deal…. And the qc is probably better than Gibson's. Sad to say.

Actually, that's a store policy, not a company policy. The GC store near me doesn't accept MF returns.

I've looked at half a dozen of these guitars in three different Guitar Center locations, with an eye to price-matching the MF price.

I'll say that, considering the declining inventory (since they're on clearance), it's worth looking at them in person before purchase. A couple had noticeable tooling marks on the wood, and three or four had some finish bleed onto the binding. One had an improperly cut nut. Three of them at my local GC had damage to the fretboard binding from (I think) filing the fret ends.

These issues overlapped, and all of them were cosmetic except for the nut. But if these cosmetics matter, you'll want to pick through the inventory to find one that meets your requirements, unless you like a lot of back and forth shipping. You won't get the rewards points at GC, but seems a small price for getting the guitar you want.

I'll say that every one of them played very nicely. I found a wine red one that was good, and the store happily price-matched MF.

Looks like they raised the price on all but the gold one.

There is no inventory for the goldtop model in their warehouse. Instead, you'll be getting a floor model randomly shipped from the nearest Guitar Center as "new", which might have been heavily beaten up. If you don't like it, call them to figure out other options.

I was offered an exchange for other colors sent from the warehouse, but the goldtop is the only one worth buying, IMHO.

I bought the wine red, via price match at Guitar Center. I was ready to buy the display guitar, but the clerk offered to get one from the back. So mine was sealed in a new box. Feel free to return things that aren't in acceptable condition, but three GC locations I've visited since December 22 have all had multiple colors on display with at least some of them in boxes still.

FWIW, these are all on clearance, which means MF/GC wants them out of inventory, probably in preparation for the next batch of GC-specific Epiphones. A display unit shouldn't be a deal-killer IMO unless it's damaged or worn. The display I nearly bought was perfectly fine except the neck pickup height needed to be adjusted. It was clean, undamaged, and ready to play.
