I use 17" laptops exclusively, haul them half way around the world, perform high end IT tasks on them regularly. 1920 x 1080 resolution is perfectly acceptable (unnoticeable) when performing normal PC tasks.
Perhaps you are disdainful due to your inclination toward playing games on laptops...?
in that case, you need to add $1,500 to the price of this unit just to get something in the ballpark of quality, agreed?

I wanted a 17 laptop but there is limited choice... I tried these HP but could not deal with the out of focus 250 nit washed out colors from the screen. So I am on the search for a 16 inch laptop now.
