Avoid Etihad at all costs. Poor service all around.

Their 4-star rating is not an accurate reflection of their poor service all around. If you experience an issue with them, you are down for a real treat (/sarcasm). Flown four flights with them recently, not a single one went smoothly.

Naming a few:
- Original flight was cancelled that I booked six months ago. Did not let me reschedule.
- My rescheduled flight was delayed, which cost me to miss a connecting flight. The delay was caused by their staff. Bumped off two pax seating next to us from a flight for their own negligence that they won't admit.
- Didn't provide complimentary hotel for long transit (yes, more than 8 hours, no other short transit offered from Abu Dhabi) as they should.
- Bumped my wife and baby from a flight. Had to stay in Abu Dhabi and purchase another ticket, not to mention paying for the hotel on my own.
- Entertainment system didn't work on two of my flights.
- Couldn't close the window on their 787 as it's a requirement to keep it open on the ground in the hot temperatures.
- Customer service on the phone is not always helpful, unless you're lucky. They say they will call back, but never do.

Etihad Airways is Certified as a 4-Star Airline for the quality of its airport and onboard product and staff service. Product rating includes seats, amenities, food & beverages, IFE, cleanliness etc, and service rating is for both cabin staff and ground staff.

Please keep in mind you'll need transfers to the Maldives islands. That will cost you a pretty penny.

We are used to US airlines and don't know how passengers are treated outside.

Bad experience with British Airways with old planes on 13 hr flights, recline and video didn't work. Connection missed and compensatory hotel was a dump at London Heathrow airport.

I second this. We have flown twice and did not have a great experience. Stick to Emirates, even if it's a little more expensive. Emirates is a class apart. Never had any issues.

Airline with a 0 rating in my book. Will never fly Etihad just like I would never fly United.

Premium version of frontier and on international flights they treat you like, you were offered a seat for free.

Agree, travelled once by them...they made us sit in the plane in the heat in Abu Dhabi on the tarmac with no AC for 45 minutes...never again flying them !!!
