this is your most basic 16/3 extension cord. not meant to be used with power hungry appliances like heaters, snow blowers, lawnmowers, weed eaters, etc. et. al.

make damn sure you look at the reviewer pictures and read the reviews.

depending upon your use applications it might be better to pay a couple of dollars more for a 14/3 or 12/3 cord.

Nothing heavy duty about this 16/3 cord, especially over a 100' run. Agreed w/above, 12/3 highly wire heavily preferred and recommended.

Heavy duty refers to the coating, not the duty load.

I'm not going to pay for and run a 12/3 cord for my led christmas lights, these have their place and they work just fine.

Way more than adequate for LED Christmas lights, spots, inflatables or whatever else you buy these days to decorate. Much easier to deal with as well. I wouldn't use it for my 725 CFM blower, or a table saw... different cords for different needs. Not a terrible deal, but nothing fantastic either.

Yes if you understand the limitations of these cords they are fine. What usually happens though is allot of people buy this for their lights, and when they need to run a vacuum because they have a 100ft cord start complaining that the cord is defective and keeps tripping their breaker.

meh, I didn't even know there were differences in cheap and expensive extension cords until I was like 30! I used the cheapest $10 dollar tree extension cords I could find to run whatever I I needed to run and sometimes joined 2-3 together! No one died and I never burnt anything down! I'd use those super cheap green christmas light extension cords daisy chained together to run power saws, weed eaters ( especially weed eaters lol you need long cords for those) anything really!

Way to give people very dangerous advice bucko. You still obviously don't know theres a difference. If you don't know what your talking about, at least just don't say anything stupid as to not give out dangerous advice to other people like yourself, that don't know any better. Jesus Effin Christ dude, that was the most ignorant thing i've seen anyone say on the internet in a long time.

Your usage of exclamation points and claiming no one ever died and you never burned anything down while doing it, says you obviously think it's safe without you literally saying word for word it's safe. Who's second language is it really? You are playing childish word games bro. Just stop it man. What you said was ignorant. No matter how many childish names you call me to attack me, its not going to change your ignorant and dangerous comments. Grow up dude

Your grasp of punctuation is flawed, go back to Jr. High!
I once jumped out of an airplane with a parachute that was packed by an 8 year old! Do I recommend doing that no but I am not risk averse, I played BB gun war as a child with no eye protection, we used M80 firecrackers wrapped in aluminum foil filled with BB's as grenades, I understand you are probably from a different generation, the one where metal monkey bars and merry go rounds are too risky and you socialized on the internet instead of playing outside! I am sure you never skinned your knee playing tackle football in the street or even owned a pair of roller skates or a skateboard because your mom thought they were too dangerous! Now go away Nancy boi real men got things to get done!

OK, so are you trying to prove that you are some kind of tough guy or something? Way to deflect on what we are actually talking about. Stop embarrassing yourself already. It's painful to watch. I know many old people like you that have been doing things wrong there entire life, but just because you've been doing it your entire life, doesn't make it right. Using inadequately rated wires for what your are doing doesn't make you a tough guy. It makes you retarded.
