It works for data transfer but the speed will be S L O W.

The difference is dramatic if you are transferring more than a file or two. I buy multiple USB C cables like this for charging but keep at least one better cable just set aside for data transfer. Since those are more expensive, I'll keep that in a drawer and use it only when I need it. Look for a cable labeled 10G or 10Gbps or older cables might say USB 3.1 Gen 2 or USB 3.2 Gen 1x2 or USB 3.2 Gen 2. Something like this [amazon.com].

You can install software to measure your cable's speed but I'll just test new cables by transferring a the same big file between my phone and PC. Slower cables will take 30 seconds. Better cables under 5 seconds.
Don't buy this if you use your phone while charging and apply pressure at the usbc port. The silver port breaks off very easily.

Wish the 100w rated cables were on sale too to take full advantage of your charging brick (if it can do more than 60w).

Does the USB 2.0 matter or should we use these only for charging and not for transferring data between devices?

This is, maybe for the first time, an interesting choice now that iPhones are USB C. If you're in the Apple ecosystem and have a laptop like me, it's very tempting to replace everything with higher spec cables. A quality third party MBP travel charger I purchased off a SD included a 240W rated cable for free! That says to me perfectly specking cables isn't saving you what it used to and it creates annoyance.

"It only supports 480Mbps. It does not support video output to connect a laptop to a monitor. Meanwhile, this is a 3A charging cable. It does not support Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0."

This is true. Some newer Samsung devices can take advantage of Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0. This requires Samsung's newest version of their 45W charger (which FWIW comes with a 5 Amp cable), or certain other brands' 5 Amp PD chargers.

(Also FWIW, the difference in charging speed is about 5% [youtube.com].)

I am standardizing on the Anker bio 240W for longer cables (3-10'), and then have a few 3-6" high Gbps thick cables for data transfer.
