the same company that sells free after rebate small kitchen electronics at kohls every year? hmmmmm... not sure I'm confident in the quality of a full size fridge from them. Thoughts?

Hamilton Beach has been making small appliances for years. But I have never seen their name on a refrigerator.

or samdung. they make terrible appliances. this fridge looks a lot like the Avanti brand that also has the same specs. Avanti is is brand of The Legacy Companies. I cant find any info that Hamilton Beach is owned by Curtis. my guess is that these fridges come from a china factory and these brands just slap their name on it.

This is the standard size of an apartment fridge, maybe a tad smaller. Most basic top freezer fridges are 18 cuft. It's not really a deal, unless you're cheap/broke. Can't be much worse than Frigidaire

people need to be aware of repair costs. i'd rather buy from costco knowing they add 2 years extra warranty. fridges these days are not built to last.

The Frigidaire rep said they don't even make their microwaves. Most of these companies just slap their name on a product if it meets their "standards".

We had a contractor bring us a dozen broken Frigidaire fridges that were new. Some last a long time, some don't. Cleaning out the coils is very important for longevity. My friend is 41 and his old fridge he got from his grandparents. Electronic control panels and anything with sensitive electronics don't last long. But even some Samsung and LG fridges can last longer than others. They do not make Frigidaire. Frigidaire is owned by Electrolux. Electrolux sold the rights to countertop appliances to Curtis (toasters, blenders, mini fridges, etc). Home appliances are a different MFG. As for Curtis, just know you likely will not find service should you need it. Companies like this will have you find a servicer on your own that would be willing to contract out. Most reputable technicians will not accept the rates and will decline the call. Also, how are you going to get it in your house or recycle your old? How are you going to deal with it being delivered damaged?
