2. The taxes ARE Included in the price you pay to that company, Luxury Escapes. It's "added" to the price you originally see, but it basically means you won't pay any taxes/additional fees when you get to the resort.
3. The included plane ride from Male to the resort is worth roughly $400 per persons, so that's nice.
4. The flights from the US suck. Its a LONG ways. 14 or so from the East Coast to the mid-east, then another 5 or so the Maldives, then another 40 minutes to the resort. Now, add in layovers (expect about a 2 hour layover in Male and anywhere from 3 hours to 18 hours in the mid-east) and you're definitely looking at well over 24 to 30 hours of travel time..and this is from the east coast.
5. Bring plenty of bug spray no matter when you go!
I've been twice, although neither time was to this resort. If you have questions, please let me know.

Furaveri
We loved it so much, we booked it again. First time we did the over-the-water villa for 4 nights and a beach pool villa for the last 3 nights. We actually liked the beach pool villa better. Bigger room. Double outdoor shower. Closer to entertainment and food. Everything there was top notch and for the price, it was fantastic. We talked to a couple of other people who had done other resorts in the Maldives and they said the service, rooms and food was all better at Furaveri, esp for the price.
Only thing really confusing there is their like 5 different meal and drink plans. Even the top tier both times we went wasn't really all-inclusive...like smoothies weren't covered and most high end premium alcohol wasn't covered.

I booked on 6/5/23 on the last front page deal and we just got back 2 weeks ago from Pullman Maldives Maamutta. I will not do this again, since it was so far and took me 4 days to adjust back to my time zone. BUT, IT WAS AWESOME AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING!
First the bad:
1. Drinks took a long time to get to me (water and soda is quick), anywhere from 5-30 minutes to cocktails. Except at the Hub Bar, always under 5 minutes.
2. Limited restaurants, granted it is a private resort island. The MÉLANGE buffet is breakfast, lunch, dinner with about 4 cook-to-order stations. Think of it as a world buffet, good food and variety. The two a la carte restaurants include SOUQ OVEN Italian lunch and dinner and PHAT CHAMELEON vegan only. Don't let the reviews fool you, if your not vegan and don't think you will like it, go with your gut! We went straight to the buffet right after (yuck)
3. We had one full day of rain and it does suck. All the fun outside activities are closed down, so think twice before booking during rainy seasons.
The good:
Everything else was awesome, it was that exotic dream vacation that everyone has on their bucket list!
I am so glad I upgraded to the Ocean Pool Villa (double the price) vs the beach villa. The deal back in June 2023 was slightly better comparing December rates and the villa booked ($6335 vs $7673). On that booking date, Turkish Airlines was the best price at $2567 for 2 + $312 option for assigned seats. All flights had every seat filled except our IST to LAX coming back. YES, IT'S A BRUTAL FLIGHT. Not so bad going there, but really sucks getting back, plus adjusting to the time zone again.
Do you mind elaborating on the awesome points? Reviews tend to complain so I would love what you found was awesome.

We've look at possibly doing The Seychelles next...maybe Bali again. I liked how far your money goes in Bali, I mean you can literally have an pretty darn amazing house, private chef and driver and still spend less that what you would in the Maldives or the Carribbean.
Some place really accessible like the Carribean (or even Hawaii for that matter) is going to be way more commercialized, way more crowded, and the service is going to be less personalized.
Last time I went to Maldives, the MAXIMUM number of families I saw on the beach at any one time was three, including mine. I'm not joking. The entire island only has a handful of rooms in these types of places. The sand is softer and whiter, the water clearer, the diving/snorkeling more rewarding because there's just more undisturbed seascape. I woke up at dawn every day just to snorkel.
But JonInVB is right. Maldives is great... but you can find this experience in other places, and honestly Maldives customer service I've found just isn't up to par with a lot of similarly remote areas, although I'd still take it over more accessible places without a second thought. However ALL those other places require a hefty travel time investment. Unless you really like the college bro crowd or stuffed family beaches, be prepared to spend some time travelling.
One thing to note is all these deals advertise all-inclusive, as if that's some super cool thing. It's required. You can't drive down to a McDonald's. You have absolutely zero choice but to dine at the resort's eateries. You are at the mercy of what they have in that particular island (island hopping is a thing but you're not going to do that for every meal or even every day). Best pick a resort with known good food. I've done a remote island before with mediocre food and it was the only vacation where I lost weight. And even if it's all-inclusive, there is generally "premium" dining options that you may want to budget in.

I went for a little over week in an October many years back, there were cloudy days and some rainy days but the days that were nice was all worth it. I stayed at an All-Inclusive resort.
The over-water bungalows are "nice" for maybe 1-2 nights. After that, you will get annoyed at the sounds of the ocean. At least I did and other people have said the same. So if you can shave off some costs by staying on the 'island', I would suggest that.
Things are expensive, all-inclusive does help with some costs, but I found that all the "cuisines" tasted the same (Indian)
There are some resorts with either child-free zones or all entirely. As someone who loves (and has) kids, it's a nice touch to have a vacation without having to hear kids (others or your own).
There was a layover in Dubai (flights from East coast) and wish I just stayed there for a few days also. Worth it in my opinion.
That's all I can remember for now.
