I bought a used Epson ls500 earlier this year and I see that it has settings for 3d. All of my older glasses don't power on anymore so I can test it.
As for the quality, it's a huge step above my 1080p and super bright even when I have all the lights on. Using it on a 110" alr screen

How does one adjust for screen size. I'm curious if the 100" can be used with a 80" or 120" regular screen. I use a projector for movies while camping, but the throw distance is a pain. I'm not ready to spend $1k on one of these for camping, but if they drop to $500 refurbished or on sale I'll be tempted. Maybe I can find one of the 1080p models on sale. I don't need 4k for camping.

Unless its LG or Epson or Panasonic, i wouldnt trust any specs of any chinese seller's projectors. Benq/sonicview are meh at best

All their lumrns and specs are all self manufactured and not independently verified hence their low prices.

If they are offloading refurbs, it means ppl didnt like their product, simple.

Well, if you do some research, these are all independently tested and compared to each other. The Hisense models perform very well. When you factor in the price, they are some of the best values on the market. Refurb doesn't necessarily mean that there were issues, all good companies sell refurbs (Epson, etc)

You do not NEED to use an ALR screen; they are for people that do not have a light-controlled room. I plan on using a regular screen, as I only watch in the dark.

If I could justify replacing my 82" Samsung flat screen I'd look at the 120" projector. Maybe in 2-3 more years I'll be ready to retire the 82" to either the master or the patio. Hopefully by then 150" will be common.

Always better to go long throw, the picture will be better. UST and ST projectors any little difference from perfect positioning and the corners will be distorted. The UST projectors are or people that don't have the space for long throw projectors. Like in my house I have 2 ceiling fans right about where a projector would go in my entertainment room. So I can move power boxes and ceiling fans around or just get a UST projector and deal with the small hit to the image.

The size difference is huge! less than 1/2 the viewing area! So justifiable Stick Out Tongue
In comparison to a 120 inch 16x9 TV a 80 inch 16x9 is...
33% smaller diagonally and 56% smaller by area as a 16x9 display.
