I've had this alert set up on triple camel for an entire year, and it FINALLY went on sale.

The big win with these is:
- It works perfectly with Home Assistant without the need for an Aqara hub.
- It works perfectly without a neutral wire, which is highly typical of homes built more than 20 years ago.

I have 3 of these, two single rocker and one double rocker. In the 24 months I've had them, they have been solid. I'm using an Aqara G3 camera hub. This has been much more reliable for Aqara devices than HomeAssistant.I expose these to HomeAssistant using the HomeKit Gateway

I do think Lutron Caseta is a better overall product and I have lots of those but these are cheaper and the double rocker switch is very useful.

I have 4 of these installed in combination with the Aqara door/window sensors to automate closet lighting - no issues with them. My house is ~60 years old and those 4 closet light switches are wired as "switch legs" with no neutral in the switch box.

This is a good price - I paid $33 a piece for my switches.

I use them with an Aqara M2 hub, with the closet automations set up directly in the Aqara app, and they are also exposed to Home Assistant through HomeKit, like the previous poster.

FYI - if your switches are far apart… you might need more than one hub.

hub looks like it's about $43 at the time of this writing

An Aqara Hub is required and sold separately. Requires a secured 2. 4 gigahertz WiFi network connection. The Aqara M2 or M1S Hub can connect up to 128 devices(*use of a repeater such as the Aqara Smart Plug or Aqara Smart Wall Switch(With Neutral) is required). Operating Temperature:0°C~40°C (32°F~104°F),for indoor use. Operating Humidity:0%~95% RH, Non-condensing. (*The product packaging is currently being updated. The actual packaging may differ from the picture.)

I've been using 2 Lutron Casetas without neutrals for almost a year now without any issue. If you want to make claims like that, you should back it up with some type of proof.

Your experience might've been unique to yourself. Possibly due to user error.

That's all that needs to be said. If Lutron makes one then there is nothing inherently wrong with no neutral switches, they just wouldn't make one if it's a bad tech. That being said I guess there could be some cheap no name Chinese brands that could be problematic but Aqara is hardly a no name fly by night brand.

This switch is wifi AND hub dependent??? The whole point of being wifi dependent is to avoid hubs (versus zwave and zigbee). Who the heck designed this???

You don't want to try installing a smart switch without a neutral, so using this product, and those like it, will only lead you to sorrow and heartbreak. Get smart bulbs if you don't have neutral wires in your home.

***Loving the downvotes from the either absolutely clueless or stupid. Go ahead, you get these without a neutral, but don't go bitching online when your shit is all flaky.

What exactly is the issue? I own a really old house and that's most of what it has, the only ones with neutrals is newer sections of the house. I've been using these no neutrals for almost 2 years with no problems…

Hub gives it backup to wifi and allows it to be in the aqara ecosystem for automation

I have several aqara zigbee sensors and use Home assistant as the "hub". So in that sense, yes, hub required, but not the aqara hub. I have no experience with aqara wifi devices though.
