I purchased a Bosch 100 series from Best Buy last December and it's worked fantastic so far. Initially I was concerned about the lack of heated dry and the hard food disposal on the unit but it cleans and dries just as well as my old washer at half the volume.

One thing you should really watch out for however is using the Bosch power junction box [amazon.com] vs the standard 15-amp NEMA plug and receptacle. My old dishwasher was hard-wired in so I picked up the junction box at the same time. However, I ultimately decided to just install a receptacle box under my sink and use the included NEMA plug instead after reading the horror stories here [houzz.com]. It seems that the junction box is not well designed and is a pretty significant fire hazard. I wish Bosch would allow a direct hard-wire installation like many other dishwashers vs using their proprietary power cables.

Except, then it's a pain in the butt to load when you're actually doing the dishes... and I think most of us just put the one spoon in the sink until we're ready to load up everything else.

Black available in my area (48439 - S.E. Michigan), but white is not. It definitely depends on your area, but they are in stock for some of us.

okay, SS is now 599 and what really kills us still. and it's a personal preference is I hate dishwashers that do not have the silverware tray mounted on the door because then you have to open up the whole door slide. open the rack just to drop in one teaspoon versus with, for example, whirlpool's design. you can crack the dishwasher door open 3 in and just slide that baby down. there. not have to swing the door all the way down open so you can roll the bottom rack out to put the spoon and the dishwasher rack... in my opinion I've had both and once I went with higher quality Whirlpool with the silverware rack on the back side of the door it made putting a spoon in the dishwasher take about 20 seconds less time times 20 30 times today. it's just a pain in the ass if it's got the silverware basket not on the door
Don't you put other stuff in the dishwasher at the same time though? I don't know the last time a piece of cutlery wasn't used with a plate, bowl, mug, etc.

It's a space saving design, and the silverware wash more effectively when laid out individually rather than all bunched together in a bucket. Think about it, when you wash dishes by hand, you most likely wash one silverware at a time.

Damn good deal. My father had just purchased this same exact thing via Bestbuy for $650 a few days ago.
I need one as well, so I doubled up and took advantage of the extra $100 off, TWO Bosch 100's for $750'ish, delivered! not bad. And I can get the one installed, but I most likely wont bother with that and just put it in myself.

We have one of these and it is excellent. Got it from Costco for $6 or 700. The lack of screen or any indication on the front is a bit annoying but you can quickly get used to it. Included installation is fantastic. As others mentioned, make sure to buy the junction box to provide to them during installation or they'll charge you extra to do it themselves.
