I went back and looked at my last 5 years ordering premier and it was $55 every year. This isn't a deal you are just paying for the gift card.

Each year Amazon matches Costco's after Christmas price. Amazon's total price includes a $10 gift card and Costco's price includes a $10 credit. If you pay to e-file state, both cost effectively the same. If you don't e-file state and have no use for the $10 TurboTax credit, then Amazon is the better deal. (In 2021 Amazon had a price mistake on Premier so it was priced the same as Deluxe for several hours.)

One explanation could be because you get 5 Federal files with desktop. This year they changed it to same account, so lets see how long burner accounts last.

It is the deal this year with unfortunately this is most likely the cheapest youll see if you go back to last year the lowest price was around this time then was at about 65 cheapest after January

I would agree…however, discovered last year that freetaxusa doesn't support everything needed for publicly traded partnerships (schedule k-1 details), so I had to go with TT last year. Every situation is different, but something to consider. I was surprised that freetaxusa didn't support everything…I've been using them for 5+ years. Once I get rid of my PTPs and my return is a little simpler, I'll switch back.

I've used TT every year for about 25 years, but I think I'm done. The new requirement to log into an Intuit account, which is a privacy issue. It also makes it harder to share with a family member.

I only switched to turbo tax because Robinhood made a deal with them and you can only import into turbo tax now. You used to be and to import into he block and you can get that cheap.

I'm curious as to what happened to NewEgg in this pricing war. Their (Fed & State download) Deluxe is $56, and the premiere is $83. Earlier threads mentioned that the best prices here were at the end of the year. Did Newegg give up? Maybe they'll go for a better price in the "new year".

Premier for sure, but many say Deluxe works also. It's just not labeled for crypto.
I hope someone can give a detailed difference between the Deluxe & Premier version when entering crypto transactions.
