As a case in point, last Christmas (2022) my dad got my wife and daughter the P11 tablets as a gift. An update or two in and Lenovo broke the Widevine level of the tablet so that media apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video would only play SD content. It got sorted out, but took *months* and it was long enough for both of them to stop using them.
Apple won't do that. Lenovo has shown their ineptitude many times over. I want to like them, because they make pretty great looking devices and I don't hate their Android skin, but I sure don't trust them.

Solid price for the hardware, tablets (especially mid-range) always have inferior hardware to flagship cellphones, that's a no-brainer, and not even a comparison.

LED vs OLED.
11" (which is my favorite size for a large tablet) vs 12.7"
update: I just double checked and my local options have an excellent open box model available for $247. A fantastic deal for a great Chromebook/tablet solution on the 8GB RAM model: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/leno...lsrc=aw.
downside was the used duet I picked up would just swiftly and consistently reboot the machine over and oever and over, had to take it back. I surmise that issue is why it was returned in the first place, I don't think Geek Squad really tests that stuff
however, provided it reliably works, it's like getting a surface pro tablet for less money
I figured the versatility of the Chromebook, with the keyboard and nicer (I assumed) OLED screen would make it a better device but I ended up sending it back.
The OLED at 1080p was noticeably blurrier than the 3K P12 screen, and honestly besides better black levels I thought the P12s screen was at least equal. The duet also felt much slower than the P12 and chrome is wayyy worse than android in tablet mode. ChromeOS just felt kind of goofy to me, if your desire is mainly a tablet the P12 is superior imo. One annoying example is the Netflix app doesn't support HD so you need to run through a browser which doesn't support offline viewing.
I still wish this P12 had an OLED screen like the P11 Pro Gen 2 but other than that this is a great device for ~$250.
I've actually been really surprised by how much more I enjoy the Duet 5 screen compared to the Duet 3 I used to own and ended up selling (non OLED on duet 3 so I wasn't really sure what to expect from the 5). I wish I had one of these P12 models to compare it to like you did. That was a good idea.
I have a love/hate relationship with Chrome. I rarely ever use the keyboard so it is almost always in tablet mode which just makes the justification for the P12 stronger since I like the customization that Android provides. I'm not using it for work or school so almost everything I do is media consumption. The only thing that holds me back now is the drastically longer support and security updates that would be offered. Not sure if I'll have the device that long or not but it is good piece of mind on my end.
Either way, thanks for the comparison! Very interesting to hear from a first hand experience!
then when it ships follow up for it. make sure you get some sort of chat code to follow up after the charge
the original SD P12 thread will have more posts regarding people waiting
