How is this even a deal? The M3 MBP with 36GB of RAM and 512GB SSD is for sale for $1999 as well.

The 14.2" M3 Pro 12C/18C GPU w 18GB RAM and 1TB storage can be had for $200 more with just a little research. It's about 20% faster on average than this M2 Pro model. So, from a performance for the dollar metric the M2 Pro model is priced equivalent. It's a fair price but no "deal".

This model actually has more memory bandwidth than m3 pro model

Yes, that's true. But the M3 Pro model in my example (the replacement for the M2 Pro in this thread) is still an avg 20% faster in real life app use. Plenty of comparison real-life app benchmarks bear that out too.
