Definitely older. But I am playing BG3 on it right now. Have played cyberpunk and Starfield. Obviously resolution will suffer but they run great.
I purchased a 64gb refurbished deck from GameStop when the price was $300ish. It came in like new condition with no signs of use. Came with original charger and carrying case in a brown box. Recommended.
If you don't already have the membership total is closer to $290+tax for the 64 gig model.

Direct from valve with true warranty support it's $280. But hard to find in stock.

GameStop support will be nearly non existent.

Here is this guy's experience with a GameStop refurb Steam Deck

The Backbone feels like a toy compared to the Portal, plus the remote experience is much smoother.
Digital Foundry has proven that the dedicated hardware of the Playstation Portal doesn't actually improve the remote streaming experience. The PS Link technology they talked about isn't about improving the remote streaming capability but actually has to do with wireless audio.

What shenanigans would that be? You are upset with Nintendo for canceling something because of supply chain issues that they never even announced?
The old Nvidia Tegra X1 CPU powering the system and never bothering to modernize it, leading to a gaming experience that drops frames and stutters on intensive games. Yes the devs need to better optimize their games but Nintendo never refreshing the SoC doesn't help here. The whacko Nintendo Online experience that feels like a barely upgraded Wii online experience. Then comes their refusal to drop the prices on their first party titles. Not including the bump up in price for the OLED. The price of the Switch needs to come down, not up.

The games are the most fun IMO but their refusal to help with the poorer performance of the Switch is too insane for me to drop good money on the Switch at full, brand new prices.

IMO, the 64 GB model is useless. Most of it is taken up with system files, so you would at most be able to install 1 game.

I had to buy a 1 TB SD card to make it playable. I also had to do some tweaking to make the shaders install on the SD card, as they natively install on the internal memory and eat it up pretty quickly.
You need to upgrade the SSD. It's a fraction of the price installing your own $50 1tb SSD.

Amazon does the same. So does Costco, BJs, Sam's Club and even Best Buy.
Costcos, Sam's and BJs are totally different situations.

But what did he expect? Is is GS after all. Most of these dudes make these videos because they already know what is going to happen. LOL I don't even mess with GS anymore and surprised they're still in business.
Well yes that's the point. So other people can avoid the hassle of they don't want to deal with it.

I have $200 locked in my Steam wallet. Prices are better outside Steam so the money is stuck there. I need a deal like this to finally get it out.

It may feel like a toy but the reviews I have seen make the psportal look flimsy as hell and not worth more than 125$ also they all complained about the remote play experience. I still feel the backbone on sale is worth it more than the ps.portal

Personal experience but we bought a new oled model for Christmas and could barely get the thing to play games without constant wi-if issues. We've never experienced a single problem between our PCs, Xboxes, etc getting online so it's definitely not on our end. We even gave it two days thinking oh servers are just slammed but this is legit an issue with their garbage antenna and thousands of other people have complained about these same issues. I'd personally stay far away from this trash deck.

My non-OLED Steam deck works just fine on WiFi. I think it supports the newer WiFi 6 protocol because it's the fastest device for WiFi speed in our house even though our router is garbage

Your router has to support it too.
