Great deal. I just can't go back after having a standup. Totally get they aren't AS efficient as chest, but convenience is unreal. Being able to quickly see what I need without spending 10 minutes and gloves on to dig through freezer.

Other big benefit of chest over standing is it usually is able to get colder. More important for longer term storage. Though stand up is by far more convenient to use and organize.

Have this from last year and it's been going strong. Very nice size but I keep it indoors I'm not sure if it's garage ready. This was $299 when I bought it last year via slickdeals

According to my Lowe's meme about freezers, this should be large enough to store a medium to large family in it. Any reliability concerns?

I've had this one for a year now. No issues at all. Works great. I keep it in the garage. I bought 3 sterilite containers with lids for the bottom row and use the included sliding baskets as the top row. Never had any issues with organization or having to dig like a previous person wrote. I bought a Temp Stick to alert me of any temp changes or failures just in case so I don't lose everything. Maintains temperature between -3F and 3F with an average of -0.6F.

Same here, picked up last year (Amana label but same freezer). Been great, though it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be.
If I had to do again would get a smaller one.

I think I'd rather buy 2 x 7 cu ft and not have all my eggs in one basket. Or one 10 cu ft chest and one 7 cu ft stand-up.
