Yes, I'd recommend it, particularly for the price. Cons? It's a relatively quiet resort area, so if you're looking for hopping night life, you'll probably be disappointed. Getting to some of the excursions you might take from Phuket can be done, but takes a little longer, depending on where you are going. None of those detracted from my stay because I wanted some relaxation after three straight weeks working on the road.
I rather imagine they were quite desperate for business in 2021 and hence the deals were good. Same reason I was able to get a great deal on an over-water pool villa at The Residence Maldives for February 2022. I don't expect to see such good prices again and I hope not - one pandemic in my lifetime is plenty.
