This is very similar to the Harbor Freight screwdriver- which is actually cheaper and has a much better grip.

I actually own both, and I can tell you for $5 it's a bargain whereas the HF one is not worth one penny (which is why they often give it away for free just for walking in the door). The quality difference is night and day here.

Good one to keep in car: cheap enough you won't care if it gets stolen (from experience), but solid enough to be useful.

I have one of those Harbor Freight screwdrivers as well as a few of the Craftsman 41161s [summitracing.com] that Sears used to regularly put on sale for $5. The Harbor Freight version is a good screwdriver for the price, but the Craftsman is significantly better.

After a year or two of occasional use, the Harbor Freight's shaft got loose in the handle, and the bits got loose in the shaft. It's still usable, but the retention just isn't as good. I ended up demoting the Harbor Freight one from my tool cabinet to the trunk of my car.

In contrast, the Craftsman one I use the most has now seen more use than my Harbor Freight one and is still like new. The Craftsman one is heavier and feels like it would handle more torque and abuse. Like other Craftsman screwdrivers with similar hard, transparent, plastic handles that I've had for decades, I don't expect the Craftsman's handle to degrade over the next few decades except for maybe some slight yellowing like my old ones. I don't have the same hope for the Harbor Freight's rubber overmolding, as my experience is such overmolding usually turns into a sticky mess eventually.

I have no experience with this particular Husky screwdriver. However, if it's similar to other Husky tools I have, it's a lot more like the Craftsman than the Harbor Freight one. I'm thinking about ordering a couple of these Husky ones to stash in places they'd be useful.

Those comparing this to the harbor freight model. They are night and day. As someone mentioned. The harbor freight model gets loose on the shaft and the whole metal holder comes out, that's the only negative of the harbor freight model

Quote from Lintegras :
What does country of manufacturing have to do with quality if the deal? Do Taiwanese made Husky tools not carry the same lifetime warranty as other Husky products? Does the country of origin somehow affect the price out the door? Is there anything of value behind this comment, patriotic chest beating aside? If you want to comment on the quality of the product, doing so with context or reference points is a lot better than exclaiming the country of origin. See users dhruva, the long trek, or Deal Hound's comments if you want to see examples of adding value to the discussion. Honestly, your comment seems bigoted and ignorant as it stands.
I assumed they were showing excitement that it's made in Taiwan and not China like most inexpensive tools seem to be now. In my experience, tools made in Taiwan are on average better quality than ones made in China (although, I've had plenty of good and bad tools that came from both countries).
