Great backpack though!
I dont understand why these side pockets for majority of backpacks and duffel bags are so small. You can bare put a plastic 12oz bottle in them
I have a different model, but the mesh sides fits 12oz cans and 20oz plastic bottles snuggley. My larger 40oz insulated cup is a tight fit though. It can pop out if I'm not careful.
I have the Wenger version. It's bigger and sturdier but pricey w/o discount. That said had my first one tear a little after 10 years of heavy use, and they stood by it even though I didn't have the receipt. If that model goes on sale I'd be willing to get a spare/gifts.
