I'd highly recommend connecting/flying out of here, snow simply does not affect this airport - honesty planes take off and land here basically no matter what winter throws at it. Highly recommend departing from msp for your intl trips vs the coasts.
Interesting fact that flying to Japan from msp doesn't go over water in most cases.
Tons of intl flights - msp to ams on delta is money, that flight never fails (delta, A330) and any destination really is great from AMS imo.
If you want to go westward to Asia hit the direct from msp to hnd in Japan.
Slim chance of weather issues going through MSP.
Friends who live there tell me the tourism industry is so vital to many locals that they welcome visitors.
For an area that was heavily dependent on the tourism industry, I feel your opinion couldn't be more wrong. The right thing to do is to go there and spend your money to help them salvage their livelihood….
