Keep in mind that their "extra trade credit" usually comes with a lower base trade value that offsets the increased credit. For example, last time the Series S had a trade value of around $190 that dropped to something like $130+$50 extra when the promo went live, so you actually lost value with the extra credit compared to the day before.

So many questions. So you bought both consoles, why? And why would you opt to keep the S if you have the X, which is graphically superiorand has more internal storage?

Doesn't matter if it's trade credit or not, tax is charged on everything as you would expect.

Ah damn. There was a halfway decent deal for a 256GB microsd card for $20 or so. Not sure what physical is useful from gamestop to use up $11 of points + $5 monthly voucher.

I would not give gamestop the used tissue out of my toilet. They been cheating us out of our expensive game trades for years. I've been waiting years for them to fold and hopefully it's soon. This is the only place I know that will sell you a brand new open game at regular price. The employees always seem to be rejects and act like they own the stupid place. Bestbuy is next. Can't stand them stupid geek squad rejects.

An upgrade to the PS5 slim from the regular isn't a terrible deal IF you can sell off either Spider-Man or COD and use the $25 off $250 pick up deal. Refreshed warranty and a little more storage.

No you CANNOT. They recently tightened all of their trade credit policies. I traded in my series X for $300 a month ago right when they changed the policy and they wouldn't let me buy Steam Wallet points with it. It was insane. I was stuck with $300 in store GameStop credit that I had no use for. Even the store workers were flipping out about it while on the phone with corporate on my behalf.

I think GameStop is secretly preparing to go out of business in the next fiscal year. They are trying to get as much GameStop credit floating on the books so they can declare bankruptcy and not owe anyone their credit back.

You can buy digital currency with trade credit just fine as long as it is in store. No idea what your issue was but it's not accurate to what anyone else can or will experience.

So if I understand this correctly,
Ps5 launch disc edition will get you
346.50 + 50 = 396.50 for pro members
And
315 + 50 = 365 for non pro members?
Or are the rates shown online including the $50 credit

Hmm. I tried to use gamestop trade in credit for $10 PSN card. It did not work.

So all 3 of these didn't work on PSN credit

$5 monthly cert
11k points (redeemable for $1 and $10 coupons)
~$160 trade in credit left over from previous trade in deal.


At this point imo if you are trading into gamestop I would have a plan to spend it all soon before they go under. Might try the steam deck deal even if I don't really want it.

I'm a huge GameStop fanboy but even I can't support their yearly membership because of all of these practices. Even if the coupons and trade credit could be used on anything, they rarely have what they put on sale in stock.
