Good review on Tom's hardware.

In many tests, this rivals the Western digital Black SN850X. And the Samsung 990 Pro.

It does have dram cash. They go into more detail on page 2 of the link on cashing

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...d-review/2

But for $12 more, the Western digital black 850X on Amazon is the better deal since it has more consistent sustained write performance.

Other than the inconsistent right performance noticed by Tom's hardware, crucial stated that the issue would be not as pronounced with the two terabyte version. But that's not what Toms hardware saw.

"That continued until the end of our one hour test sequence. So, the pSLC cache and recovery aren't quite what we normally see, but if you need to write a lot of data to the SSD at once — like, if you just want to completely fill it up — you should see some slowdowns after the first ~750GB, and with the remaining 1.3TB of data writing at a far more sedate ~500 MB/s."
Every Gen4 M.2 SSD is perfectly fine for PS5. The speed doesn't matter one bit. Don't listen to anyone who tells you any differently. There's a lot of nonsense out there from people who think it has to be a certain speed or that higher speeds will be any faster than lower speeds. They're not. Not for the PS5.
You can use code PICKUP10OFF and choose to pick up at nearby Amazon locker for $10 off.

Is the one with the heatsink for $124.99 worth it to use on PS5? Or the speeds not good for use on PS5?

Check out the link to Tom's hardware that I posted above. They say it's perfectly suitable and a good SSD for PS5. They even did their testing inside the PS5 with this SSD

Man I paid 2.5x this price for the 2TB I added to my PS5 and it's not a big enough drive. I am constantly deleting games to install new ones. Wish I had gotten a 4TB, any chance we see 4TB sub 250$ any time soon?

Nope, SSD prices are expected to rise by as much as 50% in 2024. Booo

Should have got one on BF. I got a Nextorage 4TB for $200 and I saw a couple better drives even cheaper than that.

were you absent the past month+? 2tb were going for under 90-100 consistently for 2-3 weeks... 4tb constantly under 200-220 easily and $150 for lesser drives

Maybe not for this, but I saw the 4TB SN850X for $230 a couple days ago. I think the deal is dead. I doubt we will see it again anytime soon.

This is better than P41 deal that's going on. Best Gen 4 driver currently.
