I'm pretty sure it's always $100. I don't think I've ever seen it sold for more on Amazon. It was $80 a few days ago at acme.

It's not a good saw either, fraction of the power of other dewalt saws.

Check CCC.
Often $120, once $84 on Amazon.
Need to emphasize 20V Max.

Is it the MAX that is newly significant? I just got into the 20V line so I have been watching, but it seems to have been 20V for $100 for the last few weeks or a month or so as I've been watching for a sander and a hack saw @ 20V.

Is there a regular, what is deal with MAX emphasis? Perhaps I have not noticed, although I have seen "Atomic" in there a bit too for drill drivers.

wtf are you talking about? that just means it uses lithium ion batteries instead of the old nickel stuff. every single 18V dewalt tool made in the last decade or so is marketed as "20v max". every. single. one.

CCC doesn't take coupons into consideration. it was $80 on acme for WEEKS. your stupid camel website claims the DCS356 never went below $99, and yet i posted a deal here for the same tool for $72. that's just one example.

but none of that changes the fact that this saw sucks.

"max" means lithium ion. that's it. that's how they differential old nickel battery stuff from lithium battery tools.

For everyone else, what this buffoon is saying is that if you're going to buy this, beware aware that it's the old brush model.

Not sure about "engine", but the mwo max watts output. As in how powerful the saw is.

This is an excellent saw once the blade guard is removed and a 7-1/4" blade is installed. I stopped using the brushless XR saw do to being a right handed saw and the base not being square.

are there any cons of using a 7-1/4" vs 6-1/2" ?

Agree to disagree? I've used this saw for everything for a few years and think it's great!

If it binds in a cut I'm typically pinching the blade. If the blade is dull, or the battery low, it's not going to go well. But as a right handed user seeing the blade is great, the fence is square, it's super light weight, and fits in a normal tstak box with a 12" square, a couple batteries, and an extra blade.

Now, I still want the worm style big boy dewalt, but for advanced DIY stuff it might be overkill, and I can work around any limitations this great little saw has

I've also used this for everything a diy home owner needs including building a shop. I still have the 60v worm style one in a box.

Mine does fine. Only upgrade for more power I might conceive of is corded worm drive, pro tool upgrade.

You want to look for "XR" as it's the brushless version. Depending on what you cut, 6-1/2 can be a lil small, 7-1/4 is more versatile and XR brushless is generally what you want. I just gave this to my boys and bought the big boy wormdrive which is, to be fair, overkill for quick things. DEFINITLEY recommend the 7-1/4" XR if you're thinking about this, it also goes on sale a bunch

That's some serious apples to bananas comparison you have there. Multi tool vs circular saw
