Tripp lite sucks, my PS5 died on a Tripp Lite during a power surge and they wasted hours of my time acting like they'd cover it and then screwed me in the end and didn't give me anything at all

I once installed three TVs in a bar with brand new Tripp Lite surge protectors. During a wind storm, a high voltage cable fell and landed on local distribution cables, causing a massive surge in the neighborhood.

All three TVs were fried. I filed a claim with Tripp Lite, including proof of purchase and even a copy of the letter we received from the power company stating the cause of the power surge.

Tripp Lite asked me to send in the surge protectors for analysis. They denied the claim, stating that analysis showed that all three were operating properly and showed no signs of a power surge. Yet all three TVs had fried power supply circuit boards.

I only buy APC from now on.

Only 22 reviews. Very fishy.
Check this listing:https://www.amazon.com/APC-11-Out...B017VXU6GG The deal on this page was refer to "new" model. Please don't ask me about the differences.

After checking the APC site, it shows the MET certification, which appears to be comparable to UL or ETL.

I'm wondering if the replacement (this is weeks from being discontinued) will be UL certified. I'm not too comfortable about this.

Good detective work!....but "new" and yet being discontinued by APC this month is kinda bizarre!🙄

This or the Anker for $22? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...WVXLJ&th=1

TIL apparently most "Power Taps" are a fancy term for "Power Strips" and do not provide any surge protection.

How is something like this different from any other power outlet that is UL or ETL certified? Anyone know? Because this is still more expensive with the deals.

Apparently P11U2MP10 on sale has Lead free certification without the CA prop 65. Other that, it appears to be identical in specs. Therefore, P11U2MP10 seems to be better when you consider that it's lead free.

Comparison:
• P11U2MP10 (lead free)
• P11U2 (CA prop 65)

But is APC actually any better with claims? I've heard the same stories about Schneider Electric (parent company of APC) denying APC surge claims.
