"Paramount whips Raiders of the Lost Ark into 4K shape with a terrific 2160p/Dolby Vision graded UHD presentation. This is one of the more radical alterations between UHD and Blu-ray one will find"

Apparently it is for this one.

Yes but only by buying the movies individually can we the consumers say that there are really only three Indy films.

Yes, the older movies shot on film tend to get the most benefit from being put on 4k bluray.

Can you use bluetooth earbuds to watch movies from disc players and have the audio and video sync (usually there is a lag)? Only thing stopping me from purchasing a 4k disc player. For streaming it syncs perfectly when outputting audio to bluetooth earbuds.

Is there really a huge difference in an 80's movie from bluray to 4k?
Have you not watched any older movies on 4K blu-ray? Most of them look pretty great with the native 4K resolution, HDR, and expanded color. Plus, some movies have upgraded audio, even lossless Dolby Atmos mixes.

How is this not $10?

PSA - BestBuy is the absolute worst place to buy physical media. They don't allow for replacement of defective media. So they sell you a defective disk and then say to the customer gee that's too bad for you.

Short the stock. The end times are nigh for BestBuy.

Except Spielberg changed his gun to a walkie talkie and he defeats the swordsman with the power of friendship. George Lucas changed the scene with the fighter with the plane at the end so that Indie warns him about the propeller, and his heart is to touched, he joins the Allies, and they win the war with hugs.

The last 2 movies sucked so bad, they had to gussy-up the first 2 and re-release, I see.

This is the most toxic forum I've ever been to on the internet. You philistines clearly do not deserve any funny, or even useful comments.

You'd have to post some funny or helpful comments first. Back to the topic, not a bad price I suppose for a classic. Wish they had the 3rd one also, but i can wait for a sale.

Is $14 the new good price for physical media? This feels like 15 years ago prices, but I haven't bought blu-rays in quite awhile.

It depends on several factors, but in general yes. The most common film format for major movie productions in the 1980s was 35mm, which has a digital equivalent resolution of ~5-6k. However, the more impactful enhancement going from blu-ray to 4k is (IMO) high dynamic range (HDR) color grading. Of course for that you need a TV that supports HDR.
I would just add not just a tv that supports HDR, but one that can actually show it properly. Those budget TVs that say they support HDR can read the data but can't show it correctly so you won't get any benefits from HDR.

If releasing in 4k counts as "gussied up", then yes, they're gussied up. Just like thousands of other movies... these aren't some "special edition" versions. The third and fourth films in the series are also available individually, it's just not part of the same sale as these two are.
