There's been similar deals on this on here in the past. Comments are generally only 60hz and 4 series is garbage and unrelated comments based on specs. The ppl that actually bought it seem to be more than happy for the price. Nothing else comes up before the 21st I'll prob grab this myself.

I have a 50" 4-series from years ago that was my first entry into 4K. I'm still impressed by its picture when viewed against price.
I assume an 85" with no backlighting array will yield a very noticeable contrast reduction and overall washed out sections, depending on what you're watching and time of day.
But still, if your goal is 85" on a budget, you simply can't go wrong here.
Would I buy it? No, at $700-$800 I'm at a point where I care enough about PQ that I will spend double to get a higher model. But everyone's different.

always that person who tries to hate with their propoganda:

"dont get this 85" for $799 + $100 gift card, instead get this 50" 10 series for only a few more at $1000, because the 85" is a 2 series and it sucks. the 50" is way better picture quality"

pleaseeeee mane, get out of here. aint no one gonna complain about an 85" unless you pixel peeping. others already jumped on your butt to say the same in nicer way. one even already said they went with a higher series smaller TV and regret it.

for the average jo, the immerse factor > a bit better picture quality you cant notice unless you got your nose on the screen and it cost more lol.

Received mine yesterday. Delivery was great and overall very happy with the TV. I don't even know what half the words and features mentioned are. It turns on, Google smart seems OK so far, picture looks good and it's 85". A win in my book

I'll only add this: when dealing with a large TV like an 85 inch, make sure you mount it LOW, as you'd want to be looking at the center of the TV while sitting on the couch. Sit it too high and that neck is going to hate you for life.

I've seen too many TVs mounted too high as if everyone is just going to stand around and watch it

Seems like a solid deal. This or the 75in 6-series (from Walmart BF deal) for the same price? It's been sitting unopened in my garage. I have space for either in my living room and would use for occasional movies in a dark room.
I'm surprised you didn't check if the screen was cracked. there's a few reports of that in the 6 series thread
