Depends on what you mean by work.

Cure sickness, no.

Makes you feel like you did something when you just gave your kid sugar instead of medicine, yes.

For those with Costco membership: mMy Costco warehouse has this three pack on sale for $12.49
https://www.costco.com/zarbee%27s...4788.html1
12 ounces total, $1.04/ounce vs this deal at $1.25/ounce
also not sure if it works, but pediatrician always recommends it.
please note: the syrups in the Costco bundle are not exactly the same as what Amazon is selling.
I *think* it's on sale until 1/21, if I recall correctly.

It does work but not as fast as normal medicine (e.g robitussin).

Does this actually work or just supported by crunchy moms who don't believe in real healthcare?

2 pack one day and one night also looks to be on sale for $8.85, seems like much better deal.

It works but tastes awful. It's like when you accidentally swallow right after vomiting

We use it in our house. I'm not sure if it works though. Kids take the same number of days to recover 🙃

So these things "lubricate" and sooth the throat temporarily which will likely minimize coughing and assuming the ingredients are natural, shouldn't be bad for the kid. Definitely not as effective as dedicated medicine and if your kid is good about staying hydrated and in a comfortably humidified environment, it will do the same thing as this if not better. *Not medical advise.

I question many times if the sickness is gone because the virus has run it's course or if this medicine really helped?

No medicine helps cure a cold or cough. All including this one help with the symptoms. Zinc is said to improve immunity which helps get rid of the child faster. Not medical advice

I've got a kiddo with chronic cough from post nasal drip; these articles and more have led me to understand honey is the best OTC option for the 1-2 year old range:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?...d=29633783

After 2, more options become available, but I'm not at that part of the book yet so, hope this helps answer your question with empirical data.

I love the "not medical advise" disclaimers. It reminds me of Talladega Nights "with all due respect".

Not that straightforward when you're dealing with toddlers. (Kids >4 years old). You can't just give them some Mucinex or equivalent and have them be fine in 20min. There's hardly any over the counter remedies for them that deals with congestion. And when you try to look into it they only recommend giving straight honey and using humidifiers. So parents with younger children don't have many options. This is one of the few. I personally just pay a few bucks for the bottle of honey for my toddler.

"The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends against giving children younger than 4 over-the-counter cough and cold medications because these medicines haven't been studied well enough in children of this age group."

People are so quick to bash a "natural remedy" even though It's literally the only thing doctors recommend...🤦 ♂️
