my refurb EVGA PSU started acting up. PC would shut down when I would start CS2 or APEX Legends. So I got the 850w. Will see how it goes, hopefully will never have to use the 10 year warranty.
There are two version of this GF1 850w PSU, one is PS-TPD-0850FNFAGU-P (this is the $90 2024 version in this post, 120mm fan, Vietman), the other version is PS-TPD-0850FNFAGU-1 (more expensive, older version, 140mm fan, China). They look different. So is it safe to buy this cheaper $90 version???

It looks like the newer version is indeed quite different and so I wouldn't trust that any reviews for the older one are applicable. I don't really see any reviews for this newer one, so I would personally be a bit wary of buying this.
Hope to see a review by Aris and other reputable folks of this. Just from what I can glean, it is a size and cost reduction.
Depth is now 140 mm vs 160 mm.
Fan size is 120 mm vs 140 mm.
No longer marketed as having 100% Japanese capacitors.
As for not having included 12vhpwr cable, you don't have to use an adapter. The PSU provides four EPS 8 pin connectors for both CPU and graphics. The Corsair or multiple compatible third party 12vhpwr cable can be used.

So if your graphics card has 12VHPWR connector, with GF1 you'll need an adaptor or a cable that "combines" multiple PCIe power ports into a 12VHPWR.
