Markkio, that sounds more like you were looking for a whole different kind of device, rather than this laptop being subpar.

Seems like a decent price, although the Zen4 6-core performs on par with this thing's Zen3 8-core CPU. The Zen4 6-core version of this laptop only has a 1920x1200 display, so this is a decent upgrade over the Bestbuy 7640HS machine.

Of note, the 7735HS is a renamed 6800HS.

As a consumer, I would wait for the tech in handhelds to improve or spend more and get a 4080-90 laptop GPU if I were to go this route. this laptop isn't bad at all!

Buy the 3 year warranty if you get it, the charger by itself cost +$100.

Bought what was essentially the older 1660 Ti / Ryzen 4800H version of this 3 years ago. No problems whatsoever

A few weeks into one of these that I got as open box from BB.

I really like it after some tweaking. Screen isn't as terrible as the nit people would have you believe, no it's not life-changing but plenty bright for me.

My only issue so far, and I think it's why it was returned to the store, is a high pitched buzzing sound that comes and goes with the keyboard LED's and when the laptop is idle. It's coil whine, and in my case as well as many others, tied to the BIOS.

If you're on the latest version, or the Lenovo software updates you to it and then suddenly you have coil whine, just roll the driver back. There's lots of discussion on the Lenovo forums on this issue. It also fixed a hard display off condition after sleep for me. Hoping there's a new firmware coming soon to fix those issues, until then I'll run the older one. Keeping it on the older firmware it's been running great under some heavy gaming sessions.

Other notes:
It is heavy, and the power brick is a monster. You should expect this though.

In my experience the chargers always last longer than the laptops, maybe I'm the outlier.

Been considering this and the MSI Katana 15.6" Laptop - 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H - GeForce RTX 4060 - FHD (1920 x 1080) @ Costco for $900. Not sure which is better. I mainly play games like Diablo and DBD o_O
