Reading this thread, people seem to prefer the 887 or 840 more. Also comments about the USA vs China made 887. My 887 is USA made, so maybe I should keep it instead, but I can resell this and make money, guaranteed, so I might as well buy it. I've used my 887 a lot to build a big shed and a small trailer project as well as other things. I also have the brushless 12V I love, so I'm not super worried about it.

Ordered one for shipping to MT. Didn't have any issues like others seem to be having.

Great deal, even with the $15 shipping price.
$18.15 shipping to Belgrade for me. I'd figure cheaper being in town. I'll see if I want to keep it and sell my 887 or sell this to make money. I sold my last 887 bare tool open box new for $80.

I have the 887 and the 850. I use both often.

The 850 is more powerful and a bit faster. The 850 is great for working on my car. It's hard to beat for weekend mechanics. Whenever space is tight the 850 is amazing.

The 887 has a loooooong and venerated track record. It's hard to kill. I still reach for it for construction work most of the time. The ergonomics and weight distribution of the 887 are a little nicer than the 850. I often sell my tools when I get an upgraded version. I'll never sell my 887.

Can't go wrong with either. The new XR looks nice too but I'd rather have the duo of the 887 and 850. If you are doing a multistage project (pilot hole, counter sink, driving a screw) it's really nice to have a few drills and a few impacts on hand, save a lot of time.

Ehh, I've got a heavy duty Milwaukee for the tougher bolts I deal with. I like the lighter weight of the Dewalt I currently have but it's a brushed model that's wearing out.
The unit in this deal (850) is nice and compact as impact drivers go. The 845 has similar specs but isn't compact, but some folks also say it's more robust like the 887 before it (though it wasn't the most stout driver ever made according to some reviews, I'm a DIY/hobbyist so I've never pushed mine). If you've got red tools you could also look at the M12 Gen 3 or either version of the Surge, the Surge doesn't have as much oompf but it's also very quiet and easy on the hand due to the hydraulic fluid dampening it, the gen 3 is a hard hitter in a very compact package, I had a gen 2 and sold it for the surge but other than noise when it had to power through it was a nice unit and at times made me question if I should just sell the 887, lot of these new compact tools are really amazing.

This can be converted/mod to 3/8 anvil as smallest shortest impact wrench. Breakable torque Up to 450, tighten up to 300 here the link for the anvil part for it

Interesting that it's even smaller than the DCF923 without giving up much power vs that tool once converted. The 92X's are beasts I love my 923.

I thought the Atomic line wasn't as good as the normal XR line. Is that not true here?
That ceased to be true probably 2 years ago or so, Atomic was always "small" which initially meant weak, but they've managed to continue cramming more power into smaller packages with brushless motors and what not, many of Dewalts best tools are now Atomic line (DCF850, DCF921/923 for example, the 850 isn't their top of the line but most people seem to feel it's probably the best 1/4 impact driver, the 845 has the same spec and some argue it's more stout, but that's it's only advantage if it's even true, and the 921/923 are by far the best small impacts made right now that I'm aware of, but I'm sure that will all change quickly as everyone seems to be going the direction of smaller and more powerful at the same time via engineering).

I got one and to get it shipped was $14.40. Wasn't charged sales tax as they don't have any stores in my state or close to where I live.

Seconded. I have a pair of 887s for fence building. I am buying an 850 regardless for the size. I do cabinet work and getting into small spaces is a huge bonus.

In for one. Hope it ships. Was thinking about buying a bunch and selling the tool and keeping the battery.
