Why am I getting changed to ads? Anything I can do to escape? I see the option for Netflix Standard ($8.50/mo. starting on 1/24/24)

As you may have heard T-Mobile is changing the Netflix "On Us" promo for some customers, and also adding a Hulu benefit. Here are the facts.
\- Customers on T-Mobile ONE (any version), Magenta Plus/MAX, and Go5G Plus/Next will continue to receive Netflix Standard for free. If customers on this plan are paying to upgrade to Premium, you may see a small $1-$2 increase.
\- Customers on Magenta and Go5G will be switched from Netflix "Basic" to Netflix "Standard with Ads". There is no opting out. If you pay to upgrade this already/in the future, the cost will be $8.50 per month for ad-free and $16 per month for Premium.
Hulu perk
\- Customers on T-Mobile ONE, Magenta Plus/MAX, and Go5G Plus/Next will be receiving Hulu with Ads "On Us".
\- Customers on Magenta or Go5G will receive 6 months of Hulu with ads.
This perk is a one-time bonus for existing customers, and you MUST have netflix "on us" active on your account by January 5th to receive the Hulu benefit.
New customers who make new accounts after the 5th will only receive Hulu if they sign up for Go5G Next.

Even this Netflix Standard is costing me $4.50 or something now and hardly anyone uses it in the family, wondering if I should keep it or just cancel it.
Slickerster is actually misreading the terms.
You get a new 12 month code every year. You have to redeem the code every year or they'll switch you to hulu's payment system. This isn't like the Apple promo where it's a one time code.
What's happening to my Netflix benefit?
Netflix continues to be a key benefit of your plan. As a result of recently announced Netflix changes including a price increase, we are making a change to your subscription benefit. Your plan will continue to receive a T-Mobile Benefit discount. On your next bill after January 25, 2024, your new discounted price for the Netflix Premium plan will move to $16.00 per month.

I switched 4 lines, 2 watches and home internet from ATT (with FAN discount) to T-Mobile and I'm saving $150/mo. T-Mo cell service is way better in my area too. A couple months of free Netflix was nice, but I guess I'll be paying the upcharge to remove the ads.

Hulu on Us was great news yesterday, when nothing else was changing.
tmo-report did a 180 today informing us of the change in plans--the internal documents from today are quite different than yesterday. Personally I have Netflix Premium 4x4k with most of it being covered by TMO. . .with this new deal my Netflix will go up more than the $6.99 MSRP of hulu. Not to mention I already have Disney+ bundle, and there was never any word of discount being applied to bundle. . .
TMO is getting both Hulu with ads + Netflix with ads for less out of their pocket than they were subsidizing currently for just Netflix on us.
