Good upgrade from 3080 10gb?
I got rid of my Evga 3080 12gig Ultra for a 7900xtx (Sapphire Nitro+) , and could not be happier .. I run 3 ultrawides at 7680x1440 and first thing , I was alsways running above the 12gig memory limit on games , my xtx is MUCH quieter , much cooler and just runs all my AAA titles easier and faster and now with ALL the eye candy showing with the extra v/memory things look so much better (did not realise the graphical differance even with the same graphic settings till I made the gpu switch ) .~ Not everyone will want or need the extra v/memory like I do but it does not hurt to have more and definitly better for future use . ~ Although Iam not a big fan of raytracing , its ok on these cards .
* To note : Ive been a Nvidia user for over 30 yrs , most of my gpu's were 80% Nvidia in that time , but Ive got NO regrets grabbing a red car this time around , no regrets at all !

That's a great deal, but for me, AMD cards were always problematic. Not saying it will be for everyone, but for me personally, Nvidia is simply more consistent and reliable, so I'm sticking with team green. Regardless, this is a heck of a card for $800! Plus, those XFX cards look freaking sweet. I tried a 7900XT with the same exact design, and it looked great. It's a long boy however, I had to rearrange my case to fit it, so make sure you have the length for it. I believe it's almost 14 inches long. If you're in the market, this is the time to pull the trigger.

Glad I was able to get one. I'm building a new system right now. Got the Sapphire Pulse 7900 XTX for $960 just yesterday from Microcenter (priced matched to Amazon). I started building the system last evening but it got late and I left it half way through. Was going to be to open the Sapphire Pulse and install it tonight. This deal came just in time.

I suspect 7900 XTX prices will drop some after the NVidia SUPER cards launch, but maybe not till they are actually on shelves, which won't be till end January. Then too, like other said, I don't think they will drop by this much that quickly.

The 7900XTX had started to come down to $900 on sale 3-months ago, though it crept back up to $1000 and then had settled to around $950. Many folks are predicting AMD to drop prices by $50 after the SUPER launches (assuming NVidia don't raise prices). Apart from price, lot of people hesitate buying 40 series due to the anemic VRAM. That gap will become smaller so AMD may have to counter by reducing prices a little bit.

I think 7900 XTX will come down to $800 as a flash sale price after SUPER launches, but I'm guessing it won't be soon.

What is the short summary of the concern there?

For my uses, I'm likely looking at one monitor for 4K gaming, maybe one additional 4K monitor for auxiliary applications.

I appreciate you !
for sim rigs you typically employ 3 identical screens (left, right and center) with a notion all displays will perform equally (resolution, latency, refresh etc) otherwise the ux and immersion drops off a cliff

Power supply of 850w is good enough for this card? What is the minimum requirement?
I'd say 1000, it's very power hungry, 450 watts alone, easy

Looks like it was a nice deal with a free game even!

Now I don't have to think about it as the sale is dead.

I wish I bought two, it's night and day on 4k resolution versus my 4070 ti oc that struggled in 4k.

As long as its a quality psu , you should be ok (1000watt would be better) , BUT I use a 850 watt Evga SuperNova G3 for the past almost 2yrs with my 5900x (oc'd) and the last year with my 5900x using a custom water loop and with my 7900xtx (Sapphire Nitro+) .With both doing AAA games in 7680x1440 I have pulled 720 watts total from the wall with out a problem .~ My.02
