I bought and love Comply foam tips. They stay in awesomely, but I actually bought because I seem to be allergic to the silicone tips they come with. And the foam tips still fit in the charging case.

That "$29 fee per incident" on AppleCare+ is ambiguos. Is that only in case of an accidental damage? What if they just stop working (no accident, just a faulty item) and you send them in for repair or replacement? Will you also have to pay a $29 fee?
Hardware defects:
  • Normal Warranty: Apple will pay to have it fixed or replaced for free (not including service and labor costs)
  • AppleCare+ : You only pay $29. Rest is covered by apple.
Damage done by you:
  • Normal warranty: no coverage
  • AppleCare+ : You only pay $29. Rest is covered by apple.
Hope this help.
Note: I am not fan of AppleCare+ - mainly because I trust apple hardware and I trust my handling of devices.

That is incorrect. With AppleCare+ for Hardware defect you pay $0.

Does anybody notice quality differences in the AirPods you buy from BestBuy or Costco, and Apple? Does Apple sell the highest quality ones?
Good start, but you need to queue up the next paragraph that begins "Today a TikTokker...."

Yeah it was. Especially, that I only used the AirPods Pro 1 like 5 to 6 times only. They look brand new but with 2 issues that costs as much as buying new AirPods Pro 2.
Me three on my AirPod Pro 1s failing. Used infrequently, and the right side died. Shocked that $200 product failed . I expected them to last for years. Especially since they were not used even weekly.

I'm not sure on this matter. But people have commented on SD before about certain items that they believe to be inferior when purchased on Amazon as opposed to when bought in store at like, Lowe's or Home Depot. Not talking about a fake item on Amazon, either. Exact same brand/item seemed to have better life when bought in store. Maybe similar logic is what he is saying….
Quote from shortprong :
People believe all kinds of crazy and then they convince others. In reality, It rarely happens. When companies do this, they have different part numbers.
It is entirely possible. I can't comment on the Airpods, and don't take this as contributing to a rumor. But here is an anecdote from the days past.

I once (long time ago) bought a major brand stereo system from a local electronics retailer. It didn't work right. Two more trips to the retailer's local stores resulted in a total of three faulty systems. Then I went to a major nationwide electronics chain who sold the same stereo system for more. It worked perfectly. I noticed the following:
  • The faulty ones were made in Malasia; the good one in Japan.
  • The electronic board's layout (as seen through the vents) were obviously different in the Malasian build vs. the Japanese build.
  • The Malaysian version had the same model number. And no, they weren't obvious fakes.
Here is the kicker: The local electronics chain (who always undercut the major retailers) was rumored to sell lower quality stuff vs. the major nationwide retailers. It proved true in my experience. Two different factories + two design variations + possibly lax quality control resulted in lower quality batch.

Anybody still wondering if the same deal available at Costco Warehouse, yes they do

I cancelled my Amazon order and picked it up from Costco yesterday

Was it same price or cheaper since no shipping was involved?

I have Apple devices but none with USB-C so I am not that excited to introduce another cable in the mix when I have Apple cords all over the house. I guess this is the future and why everyone is wanting USB-C? I do have MagSafe cable for my phone. Sorry if this is stupid question but can this AirPod case charge with an iPhone MagSafe charger?

I am by no means an apple fanboy but these are really good imo. You can probably get comparable earbuds from a competitor for cheaper but you won't regret these if you pull the trigger. The adaptive mode is fantastic and the ANC is really good. One feature I actually like and have used is the location tracking, the case and earbuds will play a noise that helps you find them if you misplace them.

If you are on the fence on which model of AirPod to get I would highly recommend to just save a bit extra and go with the pro over the regular gen 2 or 3 model. The only real reason I see people going with the non pro models (besides price) is that they prefer the looser in ear placement of the regular models vs. having to use the silicon tips but that's a total personal preference, I have no issue whatsoever with the silicon tips.

I think Apple products get matched by serial numbers when you make returns so don't think that will work.

That's what I'm leaning towards, not worth my time in those long return lines at my local store. I tried chatting with their automated chat online and was denied the price adjustment because I'm past the 30 days. I don't think I even want to call to request a one time exception because it's only $10, I might want to save my 'one time exception' for a bigger price difference on day if they do keep track of that stuff and it's truly one time.
Agreed! I'd save it for a bigger ticket price difference LOL
