I bought and love Comply foam tips. They stay in awesomely, but I actually bought because I seem to be allergic to the silicone tips they come with. And the foam tips still fit in the charging case.

I didn't have to do anything. After pairing and going into AirPod Settings on my iPhone, the AppleCare+ status shows automatically. I think the serial numbers are pre-enrolled and it'll activate on your account as soon as you pair them.

Thanks OP, I was losing sound in an older AirPod (right bud only) and was hoping to wait for the 3rd gen AirPod Pro redesign, but this'll do.
