I own this. I would say the form factor isn't the best for purely office use, but none of the rest of what you said is accurate in my experience. It's been great for my work related usage and it beats the pants off of the G7/G8 I had before it for image quality.

If you're at all serious about gaming, you can't beat this right now. I got in a little cheaper, but it's a fine buy here.

My one complaint is if you will be adjusting it a lot, both the screen and housing are fingerprint magnets.
Yeah I second this. I got one a couple months ago, and it's by and far the best monitor I've ever owned. To the people saying this isn't a "deal" because this deal has already come around a few times, it's still a good price for a fantastic ultrawide OLED monitor. Even if better technology is around the corner, I wouldn't be dissatisfied with my purchase.

After using it for a bit, I really think OLED is the next step up for graphical fidelity in gaming. Even for general productivity it's a notable improvement over my previous LG 35WN65C-B which was pretty decent.

The text fringing is annoying for sure, but going back to a non-OLED monitor I think I would find the starkly inferior picture quality to be a lot more bothersome. And thankfully the guy behind Blur Busters has been leading a push [github.com] for support for different sub-pixel layouts. I've had 0 problems with performance / inputs, and the gloss finish actually performs pretty well with light reflection.

I definitely agree about the fingerprints though - I don't even know how or when I touched my screen for them to get there 🤨

I have it. I love it. I have no issues with mine (only 1 month). Nothing much to say as it functions exactly as you expect it to.

10% coupons rarely work on this monitor, outside of some international coupons specifically for this model.

Going from a LCD to OLED is a 95% jump. Going from QD-OLED first gen to QD-OLED second gen will be a 5% jump, but will have notably higher prices when they launch. Also the current gen monitors have finally had all their bugs worked out, and who knows what bugs could pop up and how long the fixes will take next gen.

If you want an OLED monitor, I'd definitely just go with this one. Second gen will be a little brighter and have a bit more burn-in resistance. The latter is good for OLED monitors, but if you do the sorts of things that will cause burn in, second gen won't be immune, just more resistant. It's also possible that Dell will shorten the burn-in warranty next gen, if they're finding replacements to be painful with their current 3 year offering.

Best advice, just don't buy OLED if you play the same game every day or do the same productivity work full-screen every day. Otherwise it's fine. I'm at 4000 hours on my DWF and zero burn-in.

Now is not the time to buy one. These have been hovering at this price for months at BB. They are just too compromised for the price. Text looks terrible, inputs are buggy, gloss looks bad in lots of lighting. CES is next week and should show the gen 2 which should fix most issues. I bought a $25 crappy 27" on craigs to hold me over till gen2 comes out as my 34" nano ips just died.
I own this monitor and most of what you said is either subjective or wrong. Text looks worse compared to an IPS? Of course. So will the next OLED panel and the one after. It's not meant for productivity. Inputs buggy? Nope. Gloss looks bad in sunlight? Sure. The next gen monitor will not suddenly make gloss look better in sunlight though. If you want a matte monitor, there's plenty of those to buy today.

I've had this monitor for a year using it for creative work and gaming. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT. It's really a sight to behold when playing games in HDR.

These comments are nuts. Telling people on the Slickdeals website who are looking for deals to wait for the new models that come out in the next few months that will most likely near double the price. Makes no sense.

It kind of does ~ when the new version comes out, this will be even cheaper. Unless someone is in dire need of a monitor right now, waiting a few months to see how good the new is and to see how much lower this old one will sell for is a good Slickdeal play.

Nice. I finally aped in on this one. Military discount (or fire, nurse, etc.) gave another 5% off through the normal DELL method. $759 shipped.

Betting on decent price drops on this in the near future myself, but if you need something now this is probably within 10%-30% of the lowest price we'll see. So still a good deal on pretty much the best desk sized gaming monitor. Everyone I know who has gotten it is really happy with it, despite the fact it has some shortcomings.
