I would advise not to get the batteries, I got some free AAAs at some point and they promptly destroyed a couple of my z-wave sensors with acid.
The HF text I received says "Inside Track Club gets ALL 3 FREE"

The link to the HF coupon in the original post has the full text as well.
Three if you get the membership I guess. Worth it if you were already needing to spend $25+ anyways

What a dishonorable thing to suggest. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Were they the yellow zinc chloride ones (the cheapest they sell) or the orange alkaline ones?

I was desperate and bought the orange AA and AAA for my remotes and a fire alarm they barely lasted a month.

Yeah I am ITC and mine said all 3. That being said I wouldn't touch those batteries with a ten foot pole.

Couldn't they make you return both items or deduct the difference?

So the batteries aren't the best. I still use them every day. I've still not had one leak *knocks on wood*. The yellow ones go dead in most things pretty fast, but in clocks and other low power stuff the yellow batteries last a year for me. The orange ones have ran my thermostat all year and still not gave out. I have some of their edge batteries, but haven't tried them yet.

Maybe environmental factors are at play since all my stuff stays in the house.

I will say the free HF flashlight I got had some nasty leaky batteries, but not only are those not the batteries they sell on the shelf I also left that flashlight in my garage where the humidity could get it.
