My primary issue with the 2022/2023 G15 is how they are a lot heavier than the competition, (5.9/6.2lbs vs others under 5 and a charger that doesn't weigh 3lbs)
but it also depends on if you use this as a desktop replacement since the screen would matter less too...
This deal is merely okay without AMEX as 4050 laptops have come down to $699 in the past. The QHD screen is the standout but seems like a better pairing for a 4060 or 4070 GPU with 8GB vram for that higher resolution.

I'm thinking it's not gonna happen but I'm hoping to find something that I can play anything (currently out) on.

1) heavy means good for gaming laptops because they did not skimp on cooling part.
2) dell g series is a bottom barrel gaming laptop from dell. Alienware from dell would represent higher tier quality and assembly.
3) battery hours are all bad for gaming laptops and are around 4hrs on average. One should never consider battery hours for gaming laptop because they are not built for that purpose. Macbooks do 14-20 hrs but can't game so need to pick your sides here.
4) if you have laptop good at battery then they skimped on gaming ability: dell xps or any other slim and light gaming laptop of your choice.
5) wifi card is known issues with dell and kind of a roll a dice gamble.

2) I don't play crazy graphic intensive games but I game some simple steam games here and there. I had no issue with gaming performance with my G15.
3) My Asus can stay on for 6 hrs just by browsing websites and my G15 is able to stay on for 3hrs or so.
4) again, nothing about skimping, just a complain that I would like to browser websites or do some simple work and not have battery drain like I'm playing games.
5) If the wifi card is a known issue than why not just replace the card instead of doing all the test and end up telling me that everything is fine.

2) You are right about that, Dell's budget laptops go from good to terrible each year (2018 G3 good, 2019 G3 had major hinge issue, 2020 Intel good but 2020 All-AMD bad, 2021 both good, 2023 outdated features and heavy)
3) Seems like you haven't heard of AMD, the AMD G15 from 2021 was known for having 10hr+ battery life (src: Jarrod and other reviewers). You can have the best of both worlds...
4) False as proven above. However, I will concede that it is rare. The longest battery life gaming laptop year over year is Asus TUF w/ AMD CPU. Maybe Meteor Lake will change that.
5) Wasn't an issue on my 2021 model with Killer WiFi, it had good speeds and no issues.
1. Build quality feels good, clearly a step up from the usual silver clamshell cases.
2. Looks inconspicuous (doesn't scream gaming laptop) and when closed can pass for a business folio or small briefcase. I see no issues taking it along on my rare trips to my office.
3. Non-game performance feels snappy, might upgrade the ram to 32GB.
4. Screen is very nice. Bright enough for my needs, but can see how it can be not bright enough outdoors. I don't plan on lugging around this 6-lb beast and its 2-lb charging brick, so it will stay on my desk 90% of the time, hooked up to a 32-inch external monitor.
Overall, initial impressions are good - meets my expectations.

I can't use it for DJing because I find this unacceptable. I've tried all the troubleshooting, and updated the drivers to the most current version (it's no longer supported) and nothing improves. I can only hope that a newer computer with new hardware, faster hardware, and modern drivers can resolve the issue.
