Good catch mate

I can swear Amazon lowered the price just to match Walmart

And this is the way. For too long Amazon has been enjoying competirorless market (still does)

Amazon reviews make it seem like these shatter quite easily.

I have this to separate fat and juice of roasted meats. I'll skim the fat for sauteing, and juices for flavoring (mostly soups and noodles). The large capacity is nice.

So I could cook mug cakes or baked oats in microwave or air fryer directly in this? No need to use an extra pan or dish?
I would not put this in an air fryer (and as another comment noted, it's just not going to fit) but it's perfectly fine for microwave. "Mug cake" is meant to be made in the actual mug and even though you could multiply recipe, I doubt it will bake through evenly. Cooking in the mug, you're dealing with much smaller surface. This is a very large bowl. If you try to make a mug cake in it, most likely the edges will start burning by the time the center is cooked through. This is a good mixing bowl though, to make batter/dough to bake by other means.

My bowl came with a chip/defect on the top edge. Manufacturer's box was damaged at bottom but not at the location of the chip. Returning.

will arrive broken 50 % chance
complained to amazon and yet they could care less if you got cut or there is glass all inside the box. Bought this a year ago

packing is horrible

also look at the amazon reviews, someone stuck this in the dish washer and shattered into a million pieces after the wash

Good luck

It's not much of a general-purpose mixing bowl, but it's great for pancake batter, and yes, this is a good price.
Also great for mixing up pizza dough ;-)

Now that's a great deal! I just have the bowl and wanted to get the cap...no where to be found in the stores or online.I even tried contacting Anchor Hocking and was told they don't sell them individually.

no that aint the right way to make pizza dough.
You use a silicone matt or a kitchen aid mixer with the dough hook
LOL
i would not risk mixing dough in this , the glass would break and the dough would come out awful!

The bigger issue is that this is really small for dough, but if it's a really small batch of pizza dough, this would be fine.

Sure, a Kitchen Aid mixer with dough hook does the job, but it's certainly not required. I've now made hundreds of breads and pizzas and as I've learned more and gotten better at it, I've completely stopped using the Kitchen Aid. Less kneading and slow-fermenting produces the best flavor. And glass bowls let you see fermentation progress without removing the cover.

You use a tin bowl for mixing not a glass measuring cup when dealing with flour. .

News to me, but I am interested in how the science would work for this one--why?
