Not sure if it's part of the deal, but picked up Sid meiers pirates for $2.50. Played this when I was a little kid, excited to plunder some booty again.

Seconded this sentiment. Picked it up several years ago on GOG and despite its age, the game is highly addictive once you get going and the interface isn't terribly aged for such an old game.

Haven't played Two Point Hospital, its spiritual successor, but I had a great time playing this game

Anyone ever actually play Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics? I've always been curious about the gameplay but I don't have the balls to just go for it. I'd bring them to the top of my backlog if I had some...assurances lol

They are old games. I picked them up years ago on Gog with the same intention and tried to play through Fallout 1. It was… a bit of a slog for my 30-something brain. Nowadays in my mid-40s… I couldn't bring myself to try and play those. My backlog is too great with other more recent games.

Also if you have stayed on top of top of the free Epic Games giveaways you may have them as they were free. I had them in my account.

Back during the release of the game in the mid 90s, Fallout and Fallout 2 were absolutely awesome. No clue how they hold up now, but absolutely one of my favorite games. Tactics was more around fighting (if I remember correctly, and it may be with another game studio) and less story, so I didn't like it as much.

Pirates was another favorite of mine growing up, but I really enjoyed colonization a lot more.

I spent so much time playing this game as a kid on my computer. I think I got it as shareware on a CD or something, but it was great! Again, not sure how it holds up today.

I've been playing games in order of release date. Really hard to go back to these old school games once you are used to playing modern ones. The story of this game is amazing however. You cannot find story telling this good anymore in modern games. For example, you can beat the game by talking your way out of every story encounter if you wanted to.

Fallout 2 > Fallout > Fallout Tactics. I highly recommend Fallout 2 but keep in mind that these are older turn based games, it may be a bit hard to go backwards if you started with the FPS ones but for $1.50 it's worth a shot.

I've tried to get into Fallout Tactics multiple times but never really liked it. The action portions of the first two games aren't bad by any means but making a game focused solely on that aspect, aka Fallout Tactics, gets tedious rather quick imo.

Appreciate everyone's input regarding the earlier Fallout games. I agree that sometimes it's hard turning back the clock.
That being said, I think I'll give Theme Hospital a shot and then upgrade to Two Point Hospital (also in my backlog Frown

If there was a GOAT video game collection, Fallout 2 would be a shoo-in. Well worth playing, even in this modern gaming Era. 1 was groundbreaking for its time but that doesn't mean much now. Tactics is trash tier and wasn't ever really considered even remotely good.

Haven't checked it out yet but there's an open source engine for Theme Hospital called CorsixTH. Similar to the OpenTTD, it loads the original game files but runs on modern devices.

Hard to not admit bias if you played these games on release. Fallout 2 is still an all-time fav though. If youve got the change buy and just watch the narrated Ron Pearlman beginning. I still remember seeing the fallout 3 teaser, hearing that "war never changes.." and feeling like a kid again with excitement..

As for theme hospital and two point... played many hours on both and id say get two point. Pretty much the same but much better graphics and very well polished. Theme was great but id never go back at this point.
