Heads up, was at Lowe's yesterday and my store had like a 40ft version (green color) that was clearance for $10 down from $50. Was in those cardboard floor display cases in Christmas clearance section and they had like 30 of them still left. I stared at it for a bit and just said… nah. Maybe I'm dumb lucky but my extension cords sit out there powering Christmas blowups and get rained on and sprinklers all over them and never had an issue. Never even had a breaker pop. Same brand as this version I just recall it being shorter than 70ft.

The 40ft green ones are 16ga. The 75ft is 12ga.

Too expensive for 75-ft cords.
Only if you prefer cords that get hot while in use.

Quote from jadr313 :
Not for a 12 gauge cord with locking ends made for generator use, presumably during some sort of power outage when people are going a bit kooky. This will keep someone from accidentally knocking the cord out of a fully loaded generator and getting a nasty shock at best.
One end traps the plug, but I wouldn't call it "locking". The other end is a standard male plug.

Quote from mh1992 :
Not worth it unless you have a 20 amp circuit for the outlet. Otherwise you are just lugging a heavier cord. Some tools do work better with this 12 awg cord.
Even on 15A circuits a 12GA extension is what you want if the extension is long.

I have a super heavy duty cord. I rarely use it because it's so heavy it's inconvenient. It has its purposes but like you said it's extra work so I just grab my light duty usually.

Thanks OP, in for one. 16 available locally. I use these to hook to a heater to keep the animals water from freezing.

Picked up one. Thx OP. Also snagged a heavily clearance priced LG washer. WM3600HVA. $250. Last one, dusty as hell box.

Snagged one at my local store. Online location was wrong. An employee looked it up and had the right location. For my store these were hiding by the Pro desk.

I picked one up, but really not sure about this... why wouldn't I use something like CORDSAFE which can be used on ANY of my extension cords, is simple to use, is cheap, and, if it breaks, you just replace it: https://www.menards.com/main/stor...&yard=3505

Also, I noticed on the box it says do not plug an extension cord into this unit... but isn't that what it's for?

I ordered from the Littleton Lowes near Denver they were 25 bucks each, ordered 2 and paid 15 bucks for same day shipping. They are great for my electric snow blower and leaf blowers. i have a battery generator and if the house power goes out I will need to run cords to power stuff.

Already received so pick a store that has them for 25 bucks plus 15 shipping and buy 2 makes the deal sweet!

Thank you OP. Found them for $25 in my area. Talk about perfect timing. We just had a huge storm here in NJ. These are great for electric blowers, generators, etc. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
