Planning on getting one with 1 yr coverage using 10% discount and also i got 2 amex cards with $120 back on $599 with taxes and all I'm paying exact $960 for this machine. Deal or should wait?

This is not a deal. You can get an RTX 3070 Ti and even an RTX 4070 around this price point.
Also, this was about $50 cheaper around 8 months ago and by now it should be much cheaper considering new GPUs and Processors are about to release.

Worth mentioning that this model also had numerous complaints of thermal throttling.

With all the discounts and offers this should have been around $900 or less to be considered a really good deal.
